Fuck me, I still don't know how this could be handball. Biggest night of our lives and it was over in 45 seconds. I genuinely don't think I'll ever recover from this.
Apart from this sounding like my wedding night  it was such an anti climax and so typically spurs I think it was a once in a lifetime moment for the club which probably will never be repeated.

That final, honestly i haven’t even watched a minute of it back...just getting to the final should be something to look back on with pride and had we given it our all i think i would be able to stomach it... but the way we went out with a whimper i honestly almost wish we hadn't got there as the whole thing is ruined for me.

no I’ve never watched any of it again, such a sickener gifting a pen in 30 seconds in our biggest ever final

Same here never had the inclination to watch again how timid we were in a game of such magnitude very spursy.

Not winning the only game that truly mattered. Winning the CL would have capped off a very very good decade

Some great ones in here.

I always remember Vlad Churches against Besiktas in 2014. Absolute worst performance I've ever seen from a modern day spurs player
I loved Vlad. He was like Foyth on cocaine. Crazy fecker.

Haha.

Vlad's performance against Besiktas in 2014 was one of the worst performances from a Spurs player in recent years.

I thought he said his body couldn’t cope with the strain of the Prem anymore? I’m sure he wouldn’t have been too upset if he had to play for half a season longer and play in a CL final.

Lol. Imagine in January Poch saying "Mousa, don't go yet - we won't give you many league games, but we'll certainly play you in the Champions League Final". He'd have been laughing until mid May.

lol

I suppose after the first few thrashings under AVB, his sacking, Dimmys appointment, continued thrashings, etc I had a morbid fascination with how shit everything was that season. At some point it just became comical.

It was weird for me, took me a couple of hours to recover went out that same night, got pissed and forgot about it the next day. That match just eptimised us throughout the decade, so near but yet so far, typical way to come crashing down in Spurs fashion which is what I'm used to which is probably why I never really got upset.

Chelsea's beating us to the CL and Lasagne-gate affected me more but when this came around the feeling of failure had been etched into my soul by the club :(

I've watched the final back a few times and it's played out exactly how I remember it, such an anti climax in the end.

In the stadium watching we were relieved watching the replay absolutely CERTAIN it would be overturned because it clearly hits his chest/armpit - the utter disbelief when it stood...

Still can't understand people who argue it was a pen. Never. ever. Ever.

You should watch it back because we weren't nearly as bad as you think we were and we certainly didn't "bottle it". It was a tight and taut affair ruined by one awful decision.

Don’t forget the fan in the stand with a gilet being invited into the dugout.

I agree we didn't "bottle it". In fact the only team that looked nervous to me was Liverpool (there were long periods where they could barely pass to one another and I remember even van Dijk sticking one or two attempted passes straight out of play). But we didn't perform particularly well, which was a shame because another performance like the home leg against Man City possibly/probably would have seen us win.

It was so unbelievably hot that night. The team chasing the game were always at a disadvantage. Annoying how it played out.

It has to be the stadium build and delayed opening

They pushed the limit on getting it done for a mid season opening when everything had to be perfect for that to happen

Would have been better just to accept two full season at Wembley from the off to prepare fans and squad alike psychologically

The whole affair deflated the team, pissed off fans and left us playing in a half empty stadium for a season when we least needed it
