did anyone see mick dennis on ssn this morning when he said about berbascum going up to meet with citeh because we had agreed a fee with them but taggart picked him up from the airport without are permission. HOW COULD WE ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN.We then allow them to talk to him and put him through a medical and again without our permission. then we agree to sell him to them for less than what we agreed with citeh and accept a bribe of a reserve striker on loan. SPINELESS MR LEVY SPINELESS

And after all that they paid up the price or in other words they caved, understand that? They caved, they buggered about to cause all that trouble and then at the end of the day they went pussy on us and stumped up what we demanded.
How can people mis read this situation? SSN say Utd get there man well they could have had him weeks ago if they had only understood that Levy was serious and paid up at the beginning.
Levy turned SAF into a pussy that's the story.

How can the cretins keep saying things like that - United could have had Berbatov weeks ago for £3 million less!

How does that show Utd in a good light? It shows them brazenly courting another club's player without permission.

I know but it's the way they reported it, as if they take pleasure in the fact that Man U are touting the laws and getting away with it with big smiles on their faces coz lets face it they've always wanted berba at a top 4 team. Just look at any pre match build up when we're playing a top 4 team, like chelsea on sunday for example and especially Jamie Redknapp condeming spurs and worshiping everything chelsea related.

Levy is a business man not a football man, I belive spurs will be sold withing 12 months as a football man would never let a few million get in the way of us signing the players we need.

Its Tottenham Hotspur PLC and the sooner we all realise who is running our club and for why the sooner we will all stop being constantly dissapointed

I´m fed up of seeing ´Levy is a businessman´. By that, you can only mean he thinks about decisions, rather than entering into deals head first like a supporter would. Surely thats only a good thing?

Sinawatra came unstuck, as did Ridsdale.

I imagine we used the legal issues to get the best price we could out of United, as we did with Keane. It was in no-ones best interests that berbatov stayed here in the wrong frame of mind whilst protracted legal wrangling continued. That doesn't mean Levy was spineless. If anything it means he has used his head over his heart and decided to do what he thinks is best for the club rather than just try and get revenge on United. The £30m transfer fee is a great result for a 27 year old player who had made his position at the club fairly untenable and i'm not sure how it's a bad thing that we've got a player on loan. Hopefully we'll find out that we have an option to buy for a fixed fee. I think Levy has handelled the situation well and got the best result we could have hoped for. I would have liked to see another striker come but that is a different debate.

Yes I also feel the club is being geared up to be sold in the very near future.I Just hope its to someone along the lines of Randy Lerner at Villa who has not only done shitloads for charity and the community, but backed the manager financially and otherwise.

I think your being harsh, Levy said he wanted 30mill, and we got that 30mill plus a 4th choice striker on loan aswell. People knock him but his hardball worked.

What pisses me off is that I did the calculating last night and we spent......£0.00

Yes we recouped everything we spent, so where does the original say 20mill for the summer budget go?

It's time the FA took a stand on illegal negotiations and prosecuted clubs who act this way, but I wish we had stood firm as a club and followed through ourselves because big clubs like Manure are flouting the law and acting like Mafiosa knowing that they can get away with it and they did last night, probably with a little sweetener on the side to gag our Board.

Of course we knew Berbatov would go and we were pretty sure it would be to Manure, because that's what he wanted and he was determined about it, but it was the way it was done that rankles.

What with that, and Manchester City's new filthy rich owners dipping into their pockets and spending millions like they're pennies, it's going to be difficult for clubs not in the same financial bracket to compete and obtain the calibre of players who can take them to the very top.

We do have some good players but I fear, as things stand, we are going to find it quite a struggle to keep up with the top clubs. The business of football is just that now - a highly competitive market driven by greed and, sadly, we have to be realistic and acknowledge that we are priced out of that top bracket right now.

Believe me, I'm generally an optimist and always hope and wish for success but do some of us really still believe in fairy tales coming true?

The same Mick Dennis that predicted West Ham would finish 4th last season.
The bloke is a spammer and shit journalist for a total rag of a paper like the Express.
Grow up and stop sounding off shit about Levy being spineless,in the real world when you deal with human beings having £30.75 million thrown at you for a player who we can't play due to his attitude needs to be sold so we can move on and not have the saga dragging on and disrupting the team.

Spurs not buying the striker you wanted has nothing to do with this deal.
You would have rather kept a striker - who did not want to play for us,had fallen out with our manager, our players and who would have been booed off the park by our fans!
Sorry but what planet are you on?
The chairman has done everything he possibly could to get this club the best deal possible out of a shit situation!

I have my doubts that we hadn't agreed a fee with Man U. I would be surprised if old Rudolph would go to the airport to pick him up and risk the potential of Man U being hit with fines, points deductions etc. I'm sure Spurs would have been straight onto the Premier League if he had genuinely been abducted by Rudolph.
