The lineups suggest goals aplenty. Not just for us though as we don't have too much defensive cover in there so it'll be a case of can we score more than them I reckon.

Exciting, at least we know there will be chances created!

Holtby in for Siggy in the centre and we could see some amazing football.

Lloris;
Walker, Dawson, Chiriches, Rose;
Lamela, Sigurdsson, Dembele, Eriksen;
Soldado, Adebayor.

Or swap Siggy and Eriksen.

Couldn't care less about formation. Good team.

Walker. Rose. Lamela. Dembele. Eriksen. Siggy. Soldado. Ade. It's probably going to be a disaster but at least it'll be an attacking disaster.

I tell you what, Sherwood might be shit at managing and shit with tactics (dunno that yet, but everyone assumes) but he does pick an exciting team!

So how do we think it will look as a formation with those 11?

It'll be 4-4-1-1

Not unhappy with the lineup but big shift needed from Adebayor to ensure he makes up the numbers in midfield when we arent in possession or we will get overrun.

On paper that team is dreadful. Championship standard. Shows what an amazing job manager is doing.

They've some injuries at the moment, so it's not that close to ideal line-up. However players like Lallana and Lovren are hardly championship players.

Reasonably happy with the lineup. Think one of Lamela or Siggy will be out on the wing with the other central and Ade in a free role. Would've preferred Capoue for Dembele and Holtby for Siggy, we could easily be overrun in midfield. That being said we should see some real attacking intent and it will be very entertaining. Hopefully we can get a goal or two lead and bring on a DM for the last half hour. COYS

DECENT lineup! COYS! Only worry would be whoever is partnering Dembele in CM. Capoue would have been more solid.

A bit more mobility in that side and nice to see Sherwood has dropped the xenophobes guide to pleasing the locals (by dropping Defoe and Lennon ;) ) but lets hope Southampton don't turn the heat up too much...

We all know what happens to a chocolate teapot in the heat.

Starting XI: Lloris. Walker. Dawson. Chiriches. Rose. Lamela. Dembele. Eriksen. Sigurdsson. Soldado. Adebayor #THFC

Could be either:

442
Lloris
Walker Dawson Chiriches Rose
Lamela Dembele Eriksen Sigurdsson
Soldado Adebayor

or

433
Lloris
Walker Dawson Chiriches Rose
Dembele
Eriksen Sigurdsson
Lamela Soldado Adebayor

or maybe a bit of both if Sherwood wants to change it around.

COYS lets have a good start for Christmas

That side has 3 attacking CM's, and Dembele as our only remotely defensive midfielder.

Echoes of Ardiles, I don't see how this open system can work away from home.

But what do I know.

Quite frankly I'm a bit sick of having 2 holding/defensive mids. It hasn't worked so why not try something new. Everyone in that midfield is a ball player. If we keep possession, we won't have to worry about being overrun.
