You should be ok! The Irish league is very weak as its only a small country, not the main sport in Ireland and anyone with any talent will be snapped up by English teams or even Scottish teams.

i live 30 mins away from sligo, decent side but should not really cause any problems to Molde!

Im still in shock, I got a text from a mate and thought I was being wound up. Rang my uncle and the first thing he said to me was "is it true???" Great stuff, seriously thinking of going over to Glasgow for the first leg too. I think they will have to source another venue for our home leg though, dont think Solitude will be suitable.

Don't have any particular affiliation to either (slight interest in Celtic due to Irish family) but highly tempted to start supporting them both just so I can join in the party!!

Well, Molde have had a shocking season so far and just sold Magnus Wolff Eikrem, U21 midfielder who scored against England a couple of weeks ago, to Heerenveen. Sligo Rovers might be in with a shout!

Don't write off Rovers, they played some good stuff last season, and they are well into their season so no rustiness.

Saying that they have been a little flat this season, with my very own Dundalk chasing them for the title.

Being in season won't help against Molde, the Norwegian season goes from March to November.

I go to watch them when i go visit the family in that part of the world, i think a few players from the side that won the league have been sold off, and the manager has left aswell. Ex-Cameroon internation Joey N'do plays for them, always looks a class above the rest of them when i see them.

Another Spurs game not watched yesterday. And another more positive experience in exchange. I was at the Showgrounds last night watching Sligo Rovers host Damien Duff’s Shelbourne. Got battered 3-0. But the experience itself, so far removed from supporting a Premier League corporation. Got there early, seats right next to the dug out. Small stands, smiles on faces, local fire brigade watering the pitch. What exactly makes our stadium one of the best in the world if the experience leaves you feeling miserable? Sligo fans didn’t walk away looking like that. Some probably were but I’d say a lot of them watch a good bit of EPL too. This was just football as it should be, in the community, with family and friends. Also learned my mother used to come to this ground back in the day, now my kids have. This isn’t the dream Levy sells at Spurs. He’ll grab any buck going and if your tradition comes to an end it doesn’t affect him either way.

Years spent watching Spurs, and when I don’t I’m reminded of what I gave up to do so.

The more time I spend away from the top table the more I like about sport. The ladies football, coaching Gaelic football to kids, even Welcome to Wrexham on the telly. It’s escapism. That’s what it should be.
