Should we sign Cortese?

Now that Nicola Cortese has resigned from Southampton there seems to be renewed talk about Mauricio Pochettino as a future Spurs manager/head coach. I'm just wondering aloud whether or not getting Cortese in, with Levy stepping back somewhat, would be a better option. I'm not anti-Levy, if anything I've been exceptionally pro him over the years but reading this article ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25420261 ) last month did get me thinking. Lord knows we've tried a different manager often enough, could a new chairman make as big an impact? Not that it's going to happen of course.

As if Levy won't rule the roost even if he steps back and appoint another "chairman". Why waste the money? He likes what he is doing and he thinks he is doing it well. Live with it.

I still think Levy is a better success story than Cortese.

Whatever failings people may see in Levy, the normal one being that he's not a football man (how long do you have to run a PL club before you're considered to have enough experience to know what you're doing?) He's got us regularly punching above our weight.

Southampton, for all their plaudits, it can be argued that they've reached their rightful place as a mid table PL team. Sure, it's been a fantastic rise after the fall for them. A remarkable achievement. but I think the hardest nut to crack is the top 4 of the PL because you're going up against teams who have every advantage over you. Southampton would have had an advantage over most of the teams they beat on the way back up.

Lulz. You don't get it do you?

Levy doesn't own the club for shits and giggles, nor does he own it purely for capital gain. The guy is a seasoned investor. If he just wanted to own the club and not have control, he would basically be Joe Lewis and would've put his own management team in a long time ago. He wants control.

If we were to hire Cortese it wouldn't be as chairman, CEO perhaps with Levy still in absolute control.

You also need to remember that Levy is as close as you're going to get to having a fan in charge of the club

Wouldn't be surprised to see him actually try and buy Southapton, he could realy have them an established club in a few years. With your dollo in charge it seems they are either gonna be rupped apart Gordan Geko style or sold to the highest bidder, their fans must be in upoar over thsi implosion.

Big Joes the Daddy!

He's the majority owner, but if anyone actually understands how Lewis operates, they will know that whilst Lewis owns 70% of ENIC, Levy is the daddy of Tottenham.

Lewis focuses on direct Tavistock Group investments and he's a contrarian.

Levy can get over ruled by Lewis. Lewis is the daddy.
