Lovely stuff. It was a great time to have an extra friendly crammed into the already unnecessary international break.

Well he was booked after 43 minutes and lasted till half time. He was one of 6 half time subs so it might be nothing. I didn't see it but at least he's 10 days to get over it.

With any luck it's nothing serious and keeps him out of the other games

Three or four games in 7 days , no self respecting horse racing trainer would race a horse 3 or 4 times in a week , sue the football authorities for cruelty to human beings.

When people say things like this or 'meaning less international friendly', I don't agree. International managers need those times to look at options and understand what may or not work and get some idea of a system into players. They don't get anything like enough time to get the best out of their philosophies. Maybe ALL international friendlies should be stopped and all international managers would then be in the same boat of just throwing out what they believe is their best side and seeing how it all comes together. They would then be justifiably be panned by the media for not having anything that looks like gel in their selections?

In a "normal" season I would agree with you, however THIS season with an already mental fixture schedule to add 'meaningless' friendlies into the already punishing schedule is insane.

Teams never play 3 games in an international window. Given how compact the football schedule already is, and there still being a pandemic around, do you think now is the time to squeeze another friendly and more international travel in? Also, they replaced most friendlies with the the UEFA Nations League. If we need friendlies to prepare for that then it's kind of silly.
