Really?? Saving on walkers wages for a month for one.
Poch wanted Walker gone. Walker wanted to leave. What would have been the point of keeping him for a month? He wouldn't have played. He didn't even play at the end of last season.

Shouldnt have realeased walker so early then.wasn't like it was a shock we wasnt aware off.just penny pinching and bad planning.

Why ? To have a combo of 2 players Rose & Walker to throw their toys out together ?
Aurier's hearing went ahead on Aug 7. So, if he was always our target, we could not have gotten him earlier.

Maybe your right.certainly wasnt in favour at the back end of the season.i dont believe everything poch comes out with in the pressers though.no way is trippier good enough to be first choice.not suited to the bigger pitch at wembley, not mobile enough.i also think combined with a lack of pace across the back 4 with walker/rose missing.could be a long season if we fail to get some recovery pace over the line.maybe sanchez will help in this regard but not seen enough of him to tell.

Perhaps Poch thinks he's an improvement on Walker, from a footballing point of view. I hope we do this, because we need someone to push Trippier.

What sort of message would keeping Walker send to Tripper? Regardless of whether people rate Tripper you can't start a player who wants out over a player who wants to stay.

But this penny pinching you speak of may result in another player purchase or improved contracts for our important players that may otherwise not of been possible.

I can't believe people are still moaning about selling a player that didn't want to play for us anymore, that the manager didn't want in the squad and that we sold for a world record fee for his position.

It's not bank holiday in France

He needs a work permit here though. He can get his documents from France today, but I'd guess that he can't be registered in England until tomorrow.

We'll never know what went on behind the scenes. This comment from Rose suggests we could've kept him if we wanted:

“But I didn’t want to see Kyle sold. I wish him all the best and he deserves what he is earning. City will win a trophy this season and he deserves to be part of that.

“I knew Kyle may have been moving at the end of last season and I did voice my view. ‘Try to keep him, he’s the best, why would we sell him?’ — I said that to the manager.

But I’ve seen the manager say he feels Tottenham had the best of him and if that is what he feels, I fully respect the judgement of the manager and Daniel Levy.

Serge Aurier move from PSG to Tottenham could be imminent - source

PARIS -- Defender Serge Aurier could wrap up his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Tottenham Hotspur imminently if his work permit application succeeds, a source close to PSG has told ESPN FC.

Aurier -- who has had a summer exit agreed since the start of last month -- has negotiated a five-year contract with Spurs.

The transfer will cost €25 million if his application for a UK visa and work permit is successful.

The source told ESPN FC on Monday that Ivory Coast international Aurier will discover whether or not that is the case in the coming hours.

If it has succeeded, his move to North London will be made official in the near future. If not, PSG will turn to other interested clubs -- possibly Inter Milan -- in an attempt to find a late taker.

We're slowly finding out how many different ways there are of taking the same information and spinning an entire article out of it.

Christ let it go on the Walker transfer. He wanted out. Last thing we need is a player upsetting the dressing room and constant talk of him leaving/wanting out. He's the first player since Bale that has caused a bit of a stink. Like with Bale we got a record fee for him. Even the biggest teams lose a player occasionally. I'm excited to see what this new lad can do. If he is the same kind of athlete as Walker but possess a final ball then he is an upgrade for me.

You don't know this, though. As I posted above Rose seems to think Poch wanted him out as we'd got the best out of him.

I agree we should move on (it's not like we've got any other choice) but let's not pretend any of us know what really went on. One thing is for sure, no one forced us to sell him to a rival.

He wanted to go back up north. I don't see the point in causing a load of bad feeling by forcing him stay of go abroad. It wasn't ideal but at least we didn't sell him to a london rival. That would have pissed me off. Besides he isn't a Kane. I'm sure if Kane does ever want to leave we will only sell abroad.

I haven't seen any quotes from Walker saying he wanted to go up north, it's plausible, though.

He wasn't a Kane but he was, by some distance imo, the best RB in the league.
