Totally understand your view, I'll be honest for me it isn't just the state of the club right now. Going to games is a bit of a trek for me, I go on my own, the games the last couple of years I haven't enjoyed, and my ST costs me 1600 quid. It's one of the most expensive, and my view / seat isn't that great either. I'm looking at 90 quid a game, even against the likes of Burnley. To me that is bordering on daylight robbery especially for the quality of the performances we get, and the lack of ambition shown by Levy.

I simply aren't going to go to many games, regardless of if we are successful or not. I'm going back to being an armchair fan and I'm fine with that. I just don't see how I'll regret it.
I'm in exactly the same situation as you and for various reasons most of which mirror yours i've given up my season ticket I've had for 15 years. Still a bit gutted but now decision is made/no going back i'm ok with it.

For those interested i did have confirmation from the club they would refund the 20% deposit once all the renewals have taken place and i'll be holding them to that!

Thanks for your email.

If you choose to not renew you season ticket you will be refunded the 20% which you have paid for this season. These refunds will take place once our renewals period has been completed.
Kind Regards,
Joe

I really respect all who have not renewed. I’m not brave enough or ready to give it up yet.
After not going for 18 months I don’t think I can do late nights again but as a senior with half price ST am prepared to not go and not buy any extra cup games that may be 8pm ko??‍♀️

Got an email today offering me an 1882 Season Ticket. Email said...."At the moment, you’re approximately 25,000 back on the waitlist for a season ticket and given uptake rates from the last few seasons, it’s unlikely you’ll be offered one for the 21/22 season. That’s not to say you definitely won’t as obviously COVID may well have changed the circumstances of those on the waitlist but we do have a couple of seasonal options for next year if you’re interested?"

So they are obviously trying to sell the mega expensive ones before they work their way down the waiting list on the cheaper options. Interesting they say increasing uptake rates. I think that may be wishful thinking!

Neighbour of mine had two 1882 season tickets which cost him 4 grand the pair. He had a feeling the Conte talk was just Levy playing Billy Big Bollocks, so didn't renew. Suspect he wasn't the only one in those expensive seats, so I'm not surprised at the email you received.

For your peace of mind, it was also confirmed to me that we will get the 20% back.

Hi ****

Thanks for your email. Before we go ahead, can you please confirm the refund will be for the total value of the season ticket including the 20% deposit I paid last year?

Kind Regards,

Ha, just got an email from the club, saying that my daughter (who I signed up for a junior membership the day she was born), is now, at age 5, being offered a season ticket.

1) This makes me think that, even with the extra 2500 seats this season, a lot of people haven't renewed.
2) Can I get it and then let others use it? You used to just beep in and away you went. But now they need photo ID and apps.

Also popping into this thread because I have been offered a ST which I didn't expect to happen for a number of years. This means I now have something to think about which I didn't anticipate.

Apologies as I've never really had to think about this so sorry if my question is silly. If I take this up, what options would I have to end up sitting near others I know who already have STs? Or will I just have to sit on my own? Sounds dumb but I really don't want to sit on my own, which then begs the question why I ever signed up... just never thought it would actually come to this

You can email the club, tell them where your mates are sat and they should look at where the nearest available ST is. Alternatively you can defer your ST for this year and run this process each season until you get near enough to them that going to games and sitting by yourself is tolerable. At the very least being in the same stand is key for pre and h/t drinks etc.

Not sure those extra 2.5k would be available to normal ST holders. Would be very interesting to know exactly how many didn’t renew!

5-10k?

I take little notice of people 30k on the waiting list being offered a ST

The majority infront of them would decline a ST. When push comes to shove and people actually have to part with a thousand quid you get to see a true picture of who really wants a ST

That is why ‘legacy’ fans are so important and unfortunately many haven’t renewed their ST, including me

If we don’t sort this mess out soonish I can see ST being bought up by overseas companies selling packages to tourists to come and see the world famous premier league and its ‘great atmosphere’ lol

A thousand quid? If you're lucky, try 1300 - 1600 for many of them.

You are correct though, legacy fans are so important. There are a finite number of supporters who are willing to spend that sort of time and money on a club and the club seems to have completely disenfranchised them. When they've gone, don't expect them back.

That's why last season when I wasn't renewing, the ticket office phoned me up and were almost begging me to renew....I relented for one more season but this year I'd had enough.

I’m 24k on the list and got the email today. Wonder how many tickets will be left by the time my window rolls around on Wednesday. Anyone got an earlier time slot than Wednesday?

I’m around 40th on the list. I renew my membership each year to and always thought I’d eventually go back to a season ticket. I could probably afford it now but I’m just so unhappy with the way the club has been managed in recent years, and the biggest issue is the absence of a clear strategy on the footballing side.

I thought Levy had decided that needed to change, based on his statement about returning to an attacking philosophy and needing to find a manager to match those values, but it’s obvious that was just hot air. He seems to have hired a director of football who not only has a pretty average record but also appears to favour a more defensive/pragmatic style. With ITK claiming the two of them disagree on that front it really does sound like a total mess.

After Naglesmann, the most obvious choice in Europe which fits the qualities Levy described was Ten Hag, and it sounds like we could have got him. To go from those two - even the possibility of Poch returning - to the likes of Gattuso and Espirito Santo is really depressing.

I’m afraid to say that I’m going to be protesting with my wallet this season.

I completely get that. I renewed my ST again and I can’t wait to get back there but it doesn’t feel good giving money to a football club whose last concern is actually investing in the football team. But what can you do? Fair play to those who have voted by not renewing but if I don’t renew then someone else will snap up my seat and I don’t feel anything has been proven. Maybe the only way to hurt them is not to buy any food, drink, merchandise at the ground on match days but even that seems futile because the majority still will. It’s quite disillusioning to know you really have such little power over something that means so much to us.
