Spot checks only, to be fair
I know it is as only a friendly but last Sunday everyone had to have their pass scanned at the metal detectors.
Ticket scanned at bottom of steps, covid pass scanned at top by bag check/metal detectors and then scan ticket again at turnstiles

This new digital system is so bloody complicated compared to the old season ticket card.

I see that they will provide a card for under 18's who don't have a mobile phone !!! What planet are they living on I think you could count the number of under 18's who don't have a mobile phone on the fingers of one hand.

Whereas, there must be hundred or maybe even thousands of us senior fans who either don't have mobile phones or have very limited IT skills.

Have to agree with you , as a senior I did not have the necessary phone , I told Spurs so they sent me the form to apply for an ID photo card , , the form had a bug in it so couldn't be filled out properly, I then thought just buy a phone and be done with it but you have to be careful not all phones have NFC capability some new cheaper PAYG models do not have it , so that's another IT skill you need and all we want to do is get into a football match.

Just wonder how fool proof the system is , so a 20 year old going to the game has not had jabs and can't be bothered getting a test, doesn't have time etc , say his father has had both jabs what is there to stop the father giving his son or mother to daughter , a print out of their QR code to be shown at the game, when I had my covid QR scanned last Sunday it wasn't checked against the name on my ticket.

The way the club have handled digital ticketing has been pretty poor with lack of notice . You still have until 12 this Friday to apply for photo ID and can collect on Sunday so it is possible according to the email they have sent out but the ticket office queues are going to be pretty bad on Sunday.
Otherwise just turn up at the ticket office in plenty of time with evidence of his ticket purchase and demand a paper ticket or a refund. I just wonder how Visa or Mastercard would react to cashback claims on this first match as when Spurs sold the ST's and tickets much of the requirements for entry to the stadium were not known to supporters, it was all too vague.
I don't think it was that vague at all really, my son and I got out photo ID sorted before the start of last season just in case but decided not to go into the ballots.
We have had numerous emails detailing all the requirements for games and I was impressed at the way everything was handled at the Friendly Sunday, was expecting to queue even with small attendance but we were in within a couple of minutes.
Hope you get your tickets sorted and enjoy the game!

At least they are actually scanning them, I've been to a few events where they just looked at them, the name is tiny on the pass so how they could know it is was mine I don't know...
I would imagine it would flag up if you tried to use someone else's pass or if it was out of date maybe...

Don't think I'm going to be selling my ticket on the exchange given this is how my section currently looks! You wouldn't know which seat you are actually buying!

Any chance someone who has the time can message the club about this?

View attachment 94086

my ticket is in the same area ?. Is there normally this many listed on the exchange? Most areas are saying around 10% available.

All I saw on the ticket FAQ's was that if you didn't have a compatible phone to inform the club within 7 days of the match in question , when I renewed my ST don't remember any messages about contact us if you don't have a compatible phone. On 27th July I emailed the club about the Arsenal game to ask what do I do as at the time I had no phone this is the answer I got , no mention of photo ID at so where was the info. on photo ID's

"So far, for any supporters who have not owned a smartphone or suitable device with which to use their digital match ticket, we have been able to issue them with print at home tickets.

We are currently reviewing a long-term solution for these supporters. I have made a note in your account to indicate that you do not own a smartphone, and we will of course keep you notified should there be any further developments. "

Will always be some exceptions I guess, same with cashless in the ground, I'm not quite a senior at 52 but I love being able to have everything on my phone and pay with a tap of my phone, but each to their own and all that!
Times are strange right now, I'm just glad I can get back in to a full house hopefully on Sunday and it feel like it's normal again...

I think the comms have been decent enough but peoples main issues are that the tickets were only issued at the weekend so they haven’t given people much time to realise they can’t download it and make alternative arrangements.

All ran smoothly for me on Sunday and I’ve had no issues with my ticket so far but can see how / why some people may struggle.

Don’t know what time you got there but we were there at 1315 and we had a 10 minutes wait at the bottom of the steps for the north end to have our phones scanned for both COVID and ticket. We had a further scan at the security check and a final check at the turnstile. So altogether over 15 minutes to get into the north stand. I would imagine it will take longer for a full capacity PL game .

Yeah I get that and hopefully they can sort you and any others out with a physical card ticket, yeah guessed it might not be a full house Sunday, various reasons I guess...

I’m ok with phone and everything but still do not understand what was wrong with swiping in with our season ticket card like before??‍♀️

Traceability for covid. And it’s a great excuse for the club to see who touts their tickets. In the new system it’s easy for the club to work out who is really loyal and going to every game, versus who uses loyalty points to buy every ticket but hands most of them off to others

I really don't understand what's wrong with cards.

If you're double jabbed, that's not going to change. Why not prove it once to the club and then get a card with it printed on/stored on the NFC chip for easy verification. You can even upload a photo and have it printed on there by the club so it can't be used by other people.

The other question I have with the issue of photo ID cards is that as ST holders we all had to upload passport or photo driving licence ID as ID verification why couldn't they just issue photo stadium ID cards with that information to every one, I don't see how having a mobile with a digital ticket is proof of identity, I could loan my phone to anyone.

FAO anyone who’s been forwarded a ticket, did you get an email confirming? I’ve sent mine to someone who can’t see it in their account.

Because that's expensive, and why bother doing that when you can just do that all on your phone?

No one's leaving their phone at home anyways

Recycling a small plastic card cannot be more expensive than trying to recycle a mobile phone.
And producing a plastic entry card cannot be more expensive than mobile phone production.
