Since I posted a few days ago about the future of the site things have got somewhat worse and our last main advertiser is now in serious doubt, meaning we'll be no where near covering hosting costs. We have funding for the next month or two already sorted but after that I really don't know.

I've set up a donation system on the forums (for now through paypal but we're still exploring other options) but I'm not sure how easy it'll be to raise the £2500 a year that the site costs to run.

We do have other options but all of these effectively mean losing the Spurscommunity that we all love so whilst we (the mods/admins) have some serious thinking to do and some hard questions to ask of ourselves about what road we go down I hope we can rally together to prevent this becoming a serious issue.

Thanks for reading :)

When donating, please click the link in paypal back to SC so we can log your donation properly.

Anyone who forgets I'll add manually but it makes it easier to track :)

It's a shame really that you need to donate that much :-(

I could be wrong here, but I think there are around 3000 active members on the site... If ever single on of them donated a single £1 a year, not only would a great site they no doubt get lots of joy from be able to stay afloat, but there would also be some left over for site improvements etc.

Damn fools :-(

S'okay, I spend 29.95 a month on a site I only really use for 15 minutes each night , so a tenner on this glorious site for a whole year is a bit of a bargain in my book!

Do I have to set up a PayPal account? I don't think I have one at the moment, but I don't mind doing so later if it means I'm able to help SC.

It'd made things easier but we'll try to have a few different methods for everyone.

Thanks to everyone who's donated so far :)

I'll send off a cheque as per last time if you or one of the other Admins PMs me an address.

Tenner from me, straight from the thawing tundra of the Middle West of the United States. Wish I could give more, but I've got a couple years before tenure yet.

Send me a postal address and payee details and I'll happily donate yearly to keep this site going.
Or just post the details on the site so that we have the details for those that are able to help.

I've added everyone who forgot to click back manually to the stats now. I think that means you should have got an automated PM as well but maybe not.

As for cheques, we're still sorting the online part out but I'll post an address for cheques at some stage soon.

Thanks again to everyone and we're already going to last a month longer than we would have done :)
