I just had a thought as to which of these two would be given player of the season if the season was to come to a premature end today.

We would finish in 4th position, a point behind the Champions League winners, which would be a good position IMO having played with a very lame strike force of an out of form Defoe and Ade, plus Dempsey.

Up until his injury, Sandro has kept us in games where we would have either lost or drawn, instead of us acually drawing or winning, because of his no nonsense steely resolve.

On the other Hand Bale has had the opposite effect, where we have been drawing or winning games, we would have lost or drawn without his goals.

With both having this impact on our season, I feel it is a hard one to call. What do you think?

With Sandro injured for the rest of the season i can see Bale getting it if he carries on the way he has the last couple of games.

I voted for Bale because he just scores great goals and makes want to mimic AVB's arm pumping touchline celebration in my frontroom.
I actually shout yes, very loudly and frighten the dogs.

Sandro and Lloris are great also and the rest of the team all have great moments......but Gareth rocks........

Bale.

He is carrying us at the moment like he carries wales disturbingly.

Defoe has gone post christmas trademark useless. Sandro is out, Dembele is off form, Lennon looks off again, Ade has been stop start. Dempsey....well i've made my feelings on him clear, and our right back isnt the threat he was last season.

Hopefully Holtby will take some of the weight off his ridiculously athletic broad shoulders

Aaron Lennon has been outstanding this season and by far player of the season for me

He looks a little he needs a break' at times? It does sound a little strange but it looks like they the modern pacier type players can go off the boil very easily.

Why does he need a break, it's not like he's carrying the team like GB9.

Lennon is so over hyped it's so unbelievable, "he scares defenders" oh wow

Bale, then Bale.

On the topic of over-rated my vote goes to Dembele. I have no doubt that there is a very good player waiting to come out, but we've rarely seen it this season. He's been fine, but by no means great, IMO.

Just imagine our season so far without Bale's goals! It would be nice that the strikers take some pressure off him and find a vein of form again.

if i was marking him i would set up a deck chair next to the by line and wait for him to b-line towards me, only pausing from licking the top sprinkles layer off my fab to stick a leg out and block his low cross before returning to 50 shades of grey.

If only Evra found it that easy!

Up to this point, I'd still vote for Sandro. But as he'll be missing the rest of the season and Bale seems to have caught fire of late, and if Bale can keep up his performance till the end of the season, it'll be Bale for me.
