According to Metro

Tottenham are lining up a cheeky move to grab Samuel Eto’o from Chelsea with the White Hart Lane club ready to offer him a two-year-deal.

Eto’o is currently contracted to Chelsea for another few weeks, and Jose Mourinho has reportedly sounded out his agent for talks over an extension.

But following a war-of-words in the media this week, the Cameroon striker is said to be increasingly keen to move away from Stamford Bridge, and Spurs are planning a swoop.

According to reports, chairman Daniel Levy is willing to offer the 33-year-old a two-year contract in order to edge out interest from a host of other clubs.

To be fair all it says is we are planning to offer him a deal so he probably doesn't realise its 4 bob a week and a packet of quavers yet.

Too expensive for Levy i'd have thought.

Would welcome it though in a rotation. 1 in 2 in the Prem for Chelsea and just under 1 in 3 including cups and europe is not bad for a player that was never playing for too long at a time. Not bad for a second/third striker

and that's over paying him, we should hold back on the Quavers. Use as an incentive, 1 goal gets him 1 free pack.

Maybe if every spurs fan put a £1 towards his wages, then we could....

Nope still couldn't afford him.

Don't think I'd want the guy anyway.

He's still quality, I'd have him on a free. This could be similar to the Adebayor deal, where a signing on fee could be given to Eto'o like a transfer fee - meaning we could offer him a lower, more realistic weekly wage.

The metro have been printing constant bollocks for ages now though, so I'm not going to get too excited.

Eurgh, his best attribute has been replaced by Sheringham-esque snail pace. He's way past his sell by date.

The reasons people are giving for not wanting Eto'o are the same as the ones people gave for not wanting David Villa last summer.

Anyone know how his season's gone?
