What ever happened to Clive Allen? Or Steffen Freund?
This is now mason's moment in the managerial limelight and he just needs to enjoy it as best he can, and realise that the chances are, these next few weeks are as far as it goes.
The new manager will almost certainly bring in his own trusted team.

If I remember correctly Freund said he didn't want to coach anymore a few years back and preferred the stress free life as a pundit.

No idea what happened to Allen.

Mason will definitely go back to coaching the youngsters.

Didn't Clive Allen suffer with stress related problems? One of many who had trouble after leaving the game.

Have any of you guys listened to his press conferences?

Have you noticed he answers the question by not answering it.

The guy has a life in politics, once his seasons over.

I’d prefer Mason to Conte and some of the other bores we’re being linked to.

Stress? Anyone would think that he must have been over-invested in his role

Bit of a non article. He has probably just signed a contract - so unlikely to run to Levy for further talks right now. He needs to do some 'talking' on the pitch first.

If you listen to the presser he says that his only focus is on todays match, and that he doesn't think about what happens in the summer as he is living in the moment. You can't plan your "pathway" in football as it just doesn't work like that.

That is then spun to this crappy headline. Non story.

If people in the club think Mason or King are future managers of Spurs then they should keep them in a role where they can develop. It will provide continuity when the time comes. Consideration should be given to who should be in the role in 5-10 years.

Alternatively they should interview some of the names being mentioned in the media with a view to identifying a future manager. Be proactive rather than reactive. Get to know the candidates, their vision for a club like Tottenham, style of play, club structure, etc.

It happens a lot at European clubs and at International level and not something that is done by English clubs other than Man City.

Mason no way near ready for the big time. Needs to develop still as so far he’s been out played strategically by Pep which is expected but also Bielsa aswell.

The very Bielsa that is one of Peps biggest influences?
