30m? No chance!
That's what they may put out. To clarify, nowhere close to that. Terms both clubs verbally agreed on. Selling clubs (including us) will often have a verbal agreement, with the understanding not to officially bid until selling club instructs. This way they are not lying when they say they have not received 'any bids'.

Awesome news...especially the fee...that would be the deal of the summer.

I guess the 'Injury' is Everton saving face on the final fee

I so hope we get this over the line this transfer window, if we wait till Jan i feel we may lose out to a team chasing CL football. Our midfield would look insanely class and adaptable. Its an exciting time to be a spurs fan isn't it.

Has there been any confirmation on Barkleys injury actually being serious yet?

Heard anything to the contrary???

Must admit it's coincidental that two players Everton trying to sell are "injured"....Barkley & McCarthy

The lack of clarity, or certainly lack of official confirmation, on Barkley's injury is no coincidence. Definitely playing on this injury, or certainly the extent of it, to manipulate an outcome acceptable and palatable to all parties.

I think the deal will get done, and in a few weeks time you'll hear things like 'Barkley way ahead of schedule to return from injury'.

The lack of clarity on all this speaks volumes from Everton's end.

What a barometer of how far we have come, I remember when members were getting hard over McCarthy on here.

Top man Hercules.

Great name - after the horse in Steptoe, I presume?

I remember thinking we'd hit the big time when Sean Davis came in from Fulham. We were talking about a "potential to be an international" player there. woaaah.

i think he's genuinely injured and we may well have had a fee agreed in principle a while ago and were waiting until they got siggy to get acceptance to move forward. Hopefully we get him and injury not as bad as made out but i believe it will be and we won't see him until January... We shall see...

Looking forward to a squad where our bench looks like:

Vorm, Davies, Dier/Wanyama, Barkley, Son, Lamela, Janssen

With Winks, KWP, GKN, Foyth, CCV - all pushing to be included.

Poch wants the player. We can have the player. Go get the player this window.

It makes no sense to wait until the next window when so many things can change, we want this guy for an initial 4-5 year contract and then beyond as well, if true, a couple of months injured is a drop in the ocean.

It is really annoying that we kind of need an extra body right now for the CL etc but maybe a loan could be had somewhere

Clubs don't tend to give a detailed prognosis on injured players, do they?

That's why there was so much speculation when Lamela disappeared off the face of the earth.
