Nope.

I've never seen a CB give away as many silly free kicks as Daws. Or leave his mark a free chance. Give away possesion by hoofing the ball up field when not under pressure. It's not just the lack of pace of his feet that is the issue but his decisions too.

Stalteri was blamed for many goals where Daws should have been covering. Daws is a liability.

if Zokora was playing CB you might!

May have something to do with them (well Daws) playing hundreds more games than Rocha.
This will obviously mean more mistakes

That works both ways.

They play more, they're more established, they shouldn't be making mistakes on a consistent basis, but they do.

Rocha has made maybe 2 or 3 mistakes in over 20 appearences for us and has hardly been able to settle.

Again this is a proven CL experienced defender whom idiots on this site haven't even given a chance to.

I dont think its the 'idiots' on this site that pick the team mate. How can the 'idiots' give him a chance? Thats up to the manager is nt it????
Obviously no manager has seen anything in him to warrant giving him that chance. Must tell you something

Back on topic:

How was Rocha tonight?

Just one slip apparently

85.01: SAVE - BUTTON. Rocha left backpass a fraction short allowing Albrighton to nip in, angle always against hi though and Button closed space down well to block.

Several people were mystified as to why Jol failed to pick him and went for the Dawson-Kaboul combination instead. Then Rocha was injured and made the matter academic. Now Ramos appears to have decided Rocha isn't up to scratch either (I think he's made the bench once). You have to think, when two coaches seem to be of the same mind, that they're seeing something we lesser mortals aren't.

Dawson & Kaboul made far more mistakes than Rocha ever did

Agreed.

Rocha is way better than Daws. He's hands down better than Daws.

Daws isn't as smart footballer as Rocha.

Agreed.

You are winding me up right???

Ha ha so you are having a laugh! Nice one

:snooty:

Of course he is.......is there actually someone that disagrees??

There has been mentioned that Bent hasn't been given a fair chance........that's actually nothing compared to Rocha.

Agreed.

Chris, you may agree all you want, but whilst it's possible that one coach might have an inexplicable blind spot about a player, when two coaches appear to agree on him there's a high probability that they've got it right and we've got it wrong.

jesus. dawson, kaboul and chimbonda make more mistakes in one game than rocha does it 10.

He must be really bad in training or is completely unfit. Seems strange to me though too?!?!

Yeah, I agree with your point, but I still feel safer with Ricky than Daws. But then again, both Jol + Ramos play(ed) Chimbo a lot, and I definitely don't agree with that one

SS57, it might be something as simple as they feel he is too short to be a CB. This isn't unlikely since we have a poor defensive record especially from set pieces

It is a bit strange how he's out in Siberia. I thought Rocha looked quite classy when he arrived and a consummate pro. However, concur with others here that two managers seem to have taken a different stance and they probably have a more rounded view.

Maybe, he's always late to training, calls Ramos a c*^t and insists on tucking into Mars bars during training? Or maybe he's utterly rubbish in training and doesn't get zonal marking....

It could be, although at 6' 0" he's hardly a midget, and he seemed to me to have a pretty good spring on him.
