I hate to say it mate but I've had a good look at that picture and there are slight abnormalities that make me think it could be fake.

Well as you may know, I was desperate for us to bring in Soldado instead of Benteke. Not really sure what I'd do if this deal actually happens...probably run down the street in my Spurs shirt and boxer shorts, doing a chicken dance and hugging strangers. :chicken:

I just never thought he was an option. If I had known that, I might/probably would of gone for Soldado - in fact I'm sure I would of.

I have mentioned this before but Di Natale scored 26 goals this season and he is nearly 36- I am not saying that Soldado will be incredible until he is 36 but it just shows how long some players can go and proves that Soldado could easily repay the near £25million we are paying for him if he goes on for that long :)

Really starting to think the alleged Liverpool interest was just a move to get us to up the ante.

Although I do think Suarez will go and they'll need a big signing to placate the fans.

I wouldn't rule out them just going to Luis Muriel and Sturridge as their strikers.

I wonder whether the Liverpool thing is because they're supposed to be in for Valencia's left back and perhaps somebody is getting their wires crossed.

All that's happened is that levy remembered in which airport locker he left that bag of money he was running round Spain with a couple of years back!

Those of us that have been arguing for Levy to deficit spend a bit in the recent past to build on our success have got to be elated with what we've done so far this summer. This signing would put us at a deficit spend of about 45 million pounds so far this transfer window, with only a fraction of it likely to be off-set in sales in the next month. If this comes to fruition, I believe we are title contenders.

This signing would also put to rest the tale that we are a club that is limited financially, and can only spend what we bring in via sales in transfer fees. The days of arguing about "Doing a Leeds" are about to be over, in my opinion. The Premier League is a cash cow and the new television deal will allow us to compete financially for a higher grade of players. Even then, we've got the sale of Bale as a hedge next summer, which would more than cover any advanced outlay now.

Really, if Soldado is bought, then Levy has done what many of us have been craving for since the summer of 2010--taken a calculated financial risk to see us break-through to the very top of world football.

How does it pan out?

Baldini: 'Ok, I've got my finance guy with me and we say e25m.'
Valencia Guy: 'Nope, e30m'
B: 'I brought the guy with the cheques! e26m?'
VG: 'Getting close, I hear talk of add-ons, explain this.'
B: 'Iago Falque, you want him? Or a Brazilian Goalkeeper?'
VG: 'Meh, e30m up front'
B: 'Forget it e10m now, then e5m installments every 6 months for 2 years...'
VG: 'I am going to have to say ye... wait. Let's reconvene at 12pm tomorrow'
B: 'WTF? You were gonna say yes! Say YES now!'
VG: 'No... avail youself of the hookers and fine wine, see you tomorrow'
B: 'For fuck's sake, OK i'll take the 3 brunettes.'
Finance Guy: 'Can I have a hooker?'
B: 'No, you are admin. This is work, not play.'

Hopefully his age would also work for us in that he wouldn't be looking at us as a stepping stone too.
