Isn't Champions League good for about £25-30m of additional income?

Say you spend £22m on Soldado with variables that can reach £30m.

You then pay him £100k/week (£5.2m/year)

If we end up getting 3-4 seasons of him banging in around 20 goals, that could really put us over the top and in my opinion makes us title challengers.

3-4 seasons = £100m on the low end of things for CL income.

-£30m if he meets the variables
-£5.2m x 4 years (£20.8m)

~ £49.2m profit off of a huge expenditure that could really be the tipping point for the club.
his fee is/will be more than covered by this seasons extra income from the new tv deal:D

Radio Marca says an agreement between Tottenham and VCF will be official in a matter of hours. Soldado will earn €3.5m (net) per year.

We've spent all summer bitching about Marca completely lying about everything. I'm not believing it now because it serves what I want to happen.

Honestly, yeah. I think I'll stop forruming tbh. Just tune in to the games and forget all of this nonsense.

As a follower of Valencia myself (my Spanish club of the last 7-8 years), the best way I can describe Soldado is as an energetic Berbatov. He oozes class but actually looks like he's working!

Is his all round game (passing, technique, vision) really as good as Berba's?

If something seems too good to be true it probably is. There is no way I can see us spending that kind of money on a player, let alone a 28 year old with no sell on value. The top we spend on a player is 16 to 18m. This deal is completely out of line with our recent history and the financial realities of a club our size.

Yes but there are different circumstances this summer that have been done to death.

@mulu83: President Amadeo Salvo confirmed while leaving the hotel that the offer is very close to what Valencia want. #thfc #coys #vcfnordic

Whilest true, our director of football wouldn't be out there with their president and the players agent if a deal wasn't there to be made. They would have laughed us off the phone before anyone would have even got on a plane.

But last time we made CL we didn't make much extra as wage bill jumped by 15million as I would imagine at spurs many contracts are performance related.

I'm happy to admit I'm wrong but iirc in 10/11 we were reported to have made c30million from co revenue. The accounts for said period coincidently showed a c30million profit.

Again that might be my questionable memory but that's certainly how I remember it.
