Good to see he is doing well already in Spain and i hope it continues. i just hope people don't start saying why did we sell him and it was all our fault that he didn't perform here. His hold up play wasn't good and he didn't have the work rate that Kane does as well as missing some easy chances on a fairly regular basis.

Still he has had a rough few years so I hope he bangs them in and get a smile back on his face once more.
The cult of bobby might start making threads about how we were wrong to sell like the cult if avb will continue to do so everytime he has any success as a manager

However anyone with any common sense knows bobby needed the move back to his comfort zone to recapture his form and it was never going to happen here for him

Good luck to him and long may his upturn in form continue in Spain but it was the right thing to do to sell (for him and us)

Thank goodness for some common sense. People are getting silly on the Internet going on about how 'Spursy' it is that he's doing well so far since leaving like somehow it's all the club's fault that he wasn't a success.

So how for those that disagree with my last post, how did Kane score 30 goals? Soldado couldn't cut in the league. It happens.

Kane made most of the goals himself, same as Bale before him, if you honestly think we have played football in a way that opens up teams and creates chances AS A TEAM you are watching a different Spurs to me. We rely far too much on individuals.

Probably less than half I reckon, though I guess that depends on your definition of creating your own goals.

Regardless of our style of play, if a striker can't create goals for himself then he's not that great a player. Especially if he doesn't have a physical presence and win headers. The game has changed.

He's obviously a quality player - but this league wasn't for him. I was and remain a Soldado fan but you only have to look at the youtube of all the sitters he missed with us to understand the context for him leaving. Yes we could have provided more chances but he - for whatever reason - failed to capitalise on the ones he got rather too often. Hope he continues to shine though and hope our new guys make a difference and can relieve some burden off Kane who already looks likes he's carrying the weight of the f@cking world on his shoulders

Sorry I just don't agree, you have different strikers in football, we paid good money for Eriksen and Lamella to create and craft clear cut chances, last season we didn't do it. You simply can't say Soldado is a poor striker because he didn't score for us but scores for every other team he plays for. I would go out on a limb and say if Soldado had of been rhe Arsenal side or Chealsa side he would have been successful. We simply don't seem to have a clue in the final third.

Our style of play as a team Is more of a concern to me than individuals.

How many "sitters" did he really miss?

He scored one league goal last season. One.

Plenty of our players scored goals last season besides Kane. Even Lamela scored more than Soldado in the league. Eriksen scored way more. Chadli scored way more. Despite being 'creators' they scored more than the striker.

Kane may have created a few for himself but frankly, if he's getting 30 and our attacking midfielders are getting more than 10 each, then you can't seriously suggest Soldado's failure to notch more than a single goal was the team's fault and not his own? He had some great chances too, and he was guilty of some horrendous misses.

I stated from the day Soldado joined Spurs that I doubt he'd do well in the EPL....so I was never keen on him in the first place. But I never doubted that he's a top notch player and sensed he would do well once back in La Liga. He's just one of those players who thrives in a certain setting. He's not the only quality player who's not done well in the EPL and I am sure there are quality EPL players who'd struggle in other top leagues. It's just a fact of.
Spurs did not make a mistake when they sold Soldado, no matter how well he'll do in La Liga.

Wait a minute.
Here's this issue I have with these kind of statements and it's done a lot.
Not picking on you but Kane scores 30 and Soldado scores 1 in the league.
So its okay to add up Kanes Europa goals but every other players goals against pub teams don't count?
Like I said not having a go a you but that stat does annoy me.
Kane got 21 in the league:)

I don't rate Spanish strikers in general but always wanted Soldado to come good I just knew he wouldn't and should have gone the year before.
Pleased he is doing well now but we don't miss him, Son has equalled his record last season already.

He had loads of chances he was just jinxed. Love the guy but he flopped hard for us. Good luck to him in Spain I hope he gets all his form back and more and I'm sure he will.
