Imagine we started up with Leandro again. Valencia president would probably fire up his lap top and spark open a beer lol

With all the reports of Valencia looking at Hernandez, I am curious how much he would cost. He would be less than Soldado for them, but likely more for us, as we are in-league. But him around 18m or so sounds like a decent option.

My head hurts after reading that, but thanks mate (y)

Not sure how long this will go on for, but it really doesn't sound imminent.

Agreed. There's seem to be a feeling that Valencia are up against it and that we hold all the cards, but it strikes me as being the other way around. We've seemingly provided a decent opening offer, but it doesn't match their expectations. The fact is we all know how few top quality strikers are available, and there are other, richer clubs looking for strikers that Valencia can quite reasonably hope to hear from. On the other hand we have quite publicly failed in our attempts to being in Villa and Benteke, so it's obvious to Valencia that our options are running out.

I suspect it's why we've tried to put in an early offer. If Suarez ends up at Arsenal, Liverpool will be a prime candidate for paying the required fee. They paid £35m for Carroll FFS!

That's why I'm a little skeptical about news of 'backtracking'. At the same time I'm also confident that the stories of our efforts to get the deal done are continuing.

The biggest factor in all this may well be Soldado himself. It sounds like he's keen on joining us to the point of expressing his frustration with the board. He's essentially Mr Valencia so I don't think it does the board any favours to sour the situation.

So in short....I have no idea what the hell is going to happen.

Oh dear, all these different fees, I've said it before and i will say it again, this has damiao written all over it and i don't see it being resolved any time soon. Both levy and their president are tough negotiations and neither will cave in.

I think they'll cave (they need the money), unless fucking Liverpool come in and immediately offer the release clause. Could see them doing that too, the people running that club are some of the most incompetent morons anywhere.

I agree but I doubt united would sell to a RIVAL (it seems weird saying that but I genuinely think we can be challengers this season!!)

Yeah I feel the same way. I think we'll get it through in the end but it certainly doesn't look like its extremely close as has been suggested.

Valencia know we are in desperate need for a striker and they also know that Levy and co are under pressure to deliver one. They're not stupid, they'll know we'll need to be demonstrating ambition to our fans, Bale etc, and there are very few quality forwards available in the market - and more importantly ones who would come to us. Soldado's wages are not exactly commensurate with a player of his quality.

In many ways both sides have a good degree of power over the other from all sorts of different angles.

Don't think he'll want to leave United, the kind of guy who's happy to stay there even if he's not No. 1. Club of his dreams, etc etc...

I wouldn't rule arsenal out of swooping in for him as he is similar to Higuain who they look likely to miss out on. I doubt pool will deal with them for Suarez either more outta pride than anything, just a feeln I get from the situation delusions of grandeur if you will. So in short we better have everything wrapped up before the scum realise they aint gettin Suarez or Higuain. Cazorla and Soldado would be tasty for them upfront imo.

Probably join up here as well just to have a laugh at us. But that might actually be a good thing for us because let's be honest, who knows what's going to happen when you're posting on SC and getting a little tipsy at the same time? He'd probably agree to sell us Soldado, maybe take a couple of players off our hands as well. Anything is possible when you start knocking back a few Spanish cold ones.

I just hope we get some official news soon instead of dodgy translated Spanish news reports.

I think these latest rumours are not of serious concern, there just trying to report whats going on based on yesterdays news.

I think my opinion is today there was breakthrough (after seeing so many ITKs reveal that we are very close) but nothing has been leaked. Meanwhile valencia knowing that they will let Soldado go (to us) are activity looking for a replacement (postiga apparently close).

There must be news within the next 24hours imo. Because the longer it drags on the more unlikely it will be.

Also for people being concerned about other clubs wanting Soldado ie Liverpool, gooners shouldnt be worried at all, he is a world class striker so its normal for clubs to be interested, i just think what we have going is a far better project then any other club that would want Soldado (i think he knows this too) and also Graham Hunter did reveal that RS would like to sign for us too and was interested in us last year also.

Im confident!!

In the Daily Mail and Spanish press Valencia are also being linked with a loan for Chicarito.
I'm sure we'll get Soldado.

The Goal article earlier this evening was an almost exact summing up of the RO from the last two days.

SC ITK is literally providing content for about 75% of Spurs-related articles written over transfer windows.

My idea is that most of our sources of our ITK comes from the spurs camp (Ryan from QPR lol) , but negotiations involves both us and the other club, sometimes it is not these ITKs faults to make wrong predictions as it is not Tottenham's fault to pull off some deals (e.g. David Villa)
