Purely hypothetical, but should Cappello step down as England manager after the world cup this summer (which isn't all together that unlikely) , do you think Harry would be the man to take the job? I'm convinced of it,and to be honest I couldn't blame him. I just hope Fabio stays beyond the one tournament!

I was talking about this same situation with a mate the other day, and I am quite confident that if we are to have a good season and Capello is to stand down, Redknapp wouldn't need to be asked twice to take the job.

For this reason and for the first time in my life I'm praying that England do well in the World Cup .

I don't see it.

The FA will prefer to go for the big names who've won stuff now. I see it being more likely us going for the likes of Mourinho than Redknapp.

Unlikely, he has too many potential skeletons in the closet to be England manager...

And Venables didn't?

He'll go if offered. He's always said he'd love that job. He's a media darling much like Venables was, so he wouldn't get too much shit from them. Venables knew how to handle a press conference and that's half the battle as England manager.

Hope he stays until his saggy face droops below his knees, much like Sandra's breasts probably do now.

I dont think the FA would offer the job to Harry simply because they would be to proud to admitt they were wrong not to offer him it the last time. Many said he was the answer prior to McLaren and Cappello but apparantly his profile wasn't big enough.

To be honest I dont buy the idea that a manager can't manage both a club team and a national team, yes it would be alot of commitment but Harry does live and breath football.

Bit of a conflict of interests there I'd say, especially if it was the national team of his league club (unlike Hiddink)

I see where your coming from and if it was another manager I would agree but Harry, being English, I couldn't see him putting any Tottenham loyaltys above the best intrests of his England side.

As a bonus it would raise the profile of Spurs dramatically and can you imagine the incentive for your own English players improving. Very unlikely that it will happen IMO just a thought.

Depends how well Redknapp does with us, and how bad Capello does with England.

But remember the FA are fools, they overlooked Cloughie...

I wonder if Arry would call up Ledley if he got the England job?
