Vdv my motm.

It’s probably normal for a derby away in the last 15 mins but when Maddison went off, it showed how little creativity we have. Hopefully Lo Celso when fit sorts that.

Everyone was pretty great today. Udoghi was so good after his yellow, he could’ve easily faltered but didn’t and kept attacking lots too. Maddison and Son were great for the goals. Biss was Biss and Sarr was a little sloppy at times but what a performance to put in midfield away at Arsenal for someone his age.

Johnson will get better when he plays in his normal position. Put in a decent shift.

Harsh on Romero for their goals but he was good aside from those.

Vdv was awesome. What a player he is and will be.

VDV was best player on pitch..personally thought Sarr was decent. Son took his chances, bissouma and udogie much better second half

I'm taking this from the perspective that its Ange's 10th-ish game. Not really had time to do much compared to the eternity Arteta has had.

First 30 mins we were on the ropes. For some reason it was like Sarr and Udogie were scared of something. But after they scored, it seemed to settle us and after that, I didn't think we would lose. I think this game needed Richy earlier to harass their defence. I found Johnson quite lazy in the press.

Overall, I'm happy with the result. I think Madders going off was a blow. We really need a back up for him. If we had someone is his role then I think we would have won.

Vicario - 7

Udogie - 7
Romero - 7
VDV - 7
Porto 7

Sarr - 7
Bissouma - 8
Maddison - 8

Kulu 6
Johnson 5
Son 8

Subs
PEH 6
Solomon 6
Richy 6

Ange 8 - kept his cool, backed his way, and backed Udogie to come through his toughest game for us after being destroyed in the first 25mins

VdV was my clear MotM
Vicario second
Son very good
Udogie, Biss, Sarr and Maddison all grew into it after starting poorly

Thought Kulu was our worst player. Lost the ball so cheaply for their first and many more times during the game and kept fouling players needlessly when losing out on pace.

Ref - hope he drives off a cliff on the way home.

Boys, we showed up. We went to the emirates at the peak of their form and we more then matched them. We are on a journey and we have barely started. This is their peak.

Udogie for mine. Easily.

Saka got a lot of fantasy points but was thrashed by a kid on a bullshit yellow. Incredible stuff.

VDV a very worthy motm though

Gave motm to Udogie for lasting the rest of the match with that yellow hanging over him. Saka was noticeably quieter in the second half (pen aside).

Biss was uncharacteristically sloppy at times during the first half, but back to his imperious self in the second. Sarr seemed overexcited, sloppy at times in both halves and wild shots on goal. It was good that Ange kept both him and Udogie on though, supporting his philosophy that mistakes will be made. They will both learn from today. Hope Biss does too. Even though the ref was an absolute knob, the player is always going to lose out by disrespecting the man with the whistle.

The most pleasing aspect of the game was the 'not giving up' attitude. In the last few seasons we'd have lost that for sure.

Hope that Johnson, who was quite bright despite not getting a lot of service, won't be out for long. I think he will get goals in this set up, once he's up to speed with the others. Also hope that Madders came off as a precaution and there's nothing serious with his knee.

Would have been happy with a draw before the game. We should beat them at our place.

Sonny/Biss/VDV - tight. Udogie just pipped outta those three , for me. Went for Biss, cos like Udogie was on a yellow, but showed some real character throughout 2nd half.

Kulu did twice as much this game than Johnson or Solomon.

Thought we were poor which is not a bad thing as didn’t look like losing.

Vicario made the save when mattered.
Porro supposedly weak defensively had no problems with the Arsenal left.
Romero unlucky with OG and penalty on another day is not given re proximity.
VDV near faultless and Udogie despite yellow not too troubled by Daka apart from goal where him and Johnson showed they’ve never played together before.
Thought Biss, Sarr and Maddison battled hard but never got on top of the midfield
Son had couple of quality moments and Kulu battled hard. Johnson looked like a new player.

mall in all a good point as think we can do better than that.

VDV for the full 90, but Bissouma (had a poor first half IMO) was the best player on the pitch in the second (maybe aside from Saliba who probably saved them a point)
