Was thinking about this, this morning. I genuinely get the feeling these lads and Poch want to prove all the doubters wrong. It's like a challenge to them that they have accepted. An us vs the world mentality if you will. I absolutely love it.

If, and I know it's a big if, but if we were to win the league this season especially with no home, no signings, countless injuries, up to a month without Kane & Alli, I would love to see all their faces. Would make it so much sweeter to win the league without making a signing and not spending a penny.

By all accounts we are the outsiders. Quite honestly that's how I like it. Let everyone write us off. Keep it between Liverpool and City, while we continue to grind out wins under the radar. The media and oppo fans won't like it, but hey they haven't liked us for years. Bring on the hate. Will only fuel my passion more, I'm sure the players and Poch feel the same.

There was one post match interview with Dier a few seasons back where he spoke about how he didn't like what they said about us. That can light a fire in you.

Just look at how many wins we have this season alone. Now look at how many of those were last 10 minute goals or turnarounds.

This team have been together for going on 5 years, they're like a family, a brotherhood.

I'm getting fired up typing this myself. COYS!

I'm pretty sure Kane said as much after we beat United earlier in the season. Unfortunately we followed up with two defeats.

I do hope the players are more quietly confident this time, the second one of them mentions "we can win it" it all goes tits up.

That would be the best thing that could happen, first Leicester and then a team not spending a penny winning the league.

It would make a mockery of the over inflated fees and wages, the constant barrage of if you don’t improve you’re going to be left behind (how much can a team be improved year on year? Surely points being the only measure?)

SSN and the media would have a terrible time trying to spin how the team that have been slagged off for not competing financially with the doped clubs have come out on top ?

Nobody wins every game, and every club will lose at least once. As long as there are more wins than defeats and draws (what are they like?) you will finish high up.

The players felt the disappointments of losing out to Leicester and Chelsea, as well as the semi finals and final. Alli after one of the FA Cup semis (maybe last year?) "We can't keep doing this". They know it themselves, and each season have grown. Each season has brought some form of off the field negativity, yet they just roll up their sleeves and keep going. How many times over the years have we dropped points when we haven't performed or a lesser side defends solidly? This year we find a way.

I will always have faith and belief in this group. I will always have the belief that a trophy is coming. Said when Leicester won the league, they wouldn't have another chance while we will stay up there. Low and behold top 3 every season since.

Want a City today. Not because I am looking down rather than up but because I think the more pressure there is on Liverpool the better.

Gut wrenching to think that if we didn't throw away the lead against Watford and Wolves, we'd be top right now.

Something you are missing, if we did that as is, imagine what we might do when we do start spending money!
If we did get in some crackers in the summer, even if we don't win it this year, their old aprils will be going ten to the dozen.

I am all for looking at a target and the highest position we can achieve despite the results of those below us. That is why despite our obvious rivalry, I still want Arsenal to beat Man City which would result with us maintaining our 2nd position. After that it would totally in our hands to finish at least second.

Since we still have ManC to play, it is already in our hands. Win out and City can't catch us. Always like ties when our top 6 rivals are playing until the last month, 4 total points dropped instead of only 3.

Why? I'd rather a draw or *whisper it* Gooner win. I'm looking up, not down.
If you are really looking up - then the result does not matter. The only result that matters is West Ham beating Liverpool.

Man City is not an obstacle to the title - we simply have to beat them to stay above them (and then match their results)

And, it does not really matter if we finish 2nd or 3rd. The only options that matter are 1st or top-4.

From a "put-pressure-on-Liverpool" sense - a Man City win is the best outcome. Liverpool will fear City long before they fear us - particularly if City close the gap to 2 or 3 points.

I totally agree with this. If we don't finish 1st (which I don't think we will) and we do finish above Arsenal (which I do think we will), then for me there's no difference at all between finishing in any of 2nd/3rd/4th.

While ostensibly it doesn't seem to make any difference if we finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th I beg to differ. Attracting top players to this club will be easier if we finish runners-up than if we finish 4th. Finishing above a zillionaire club like Man City would be a hell of an achievement for a club that has spent nothing on new players this season.

Liverpool already fear us, they may fear City more than they fear us but they do fear us. Two weeks ago they'd won the league now they fear.
