I think we are at a cross roads, new stadium on the horizon, all the spoils that should o with it. I hope we do something with it and we build a dynasty that 50 years from now our fans can be proud of but what I dont wnt it to be another Arsenal who just celebrated being in the top 4 the longest.

Arsenal are guilty of stagnation and the whole entire club mentality is just to accept finishing top four as object complete.

Daniel Levy has continued to push this club to where we are now, I'll be very surprised if we stagnate and just filter around the top four places like Arsenal, I'd imagine that he'd want some silverware in a year or two and to be able to sustain that for years to come, if not now.

I hope your right, this is the best squad I can remember and if we win nothing with it, it would be a terrible waste

Arsenal have won the FA cup twice in the last 3 years whilst finishing in the top 3 each year.
They had restrictions on transfers and wages for 10 years after the stadium was built.
Far from being critical of them stagnating, they should be commended for staying up there with the mega rich clubs for so many years.

And without Abramovic and Dubai obcence money, imagine how many trophys the scum would have won

I'm not really talking about their cups, I'm talking about the club mentality to the top four and where I think the difference is with Daniel Levy in response to the @lillywhites61

A club of our size and capability should be able to win trophies and get top four at the same time.

In terms of our good football we have been under achieving with trophies for a while now, though ironically in terms of finances we have been over achieving with our league positions.

Don't think that's right. You can't ever turn Wigan into the next Man Utd. Theve won the FA cup which is massive for there club. Good luck to them. You don't want him your local side on a sats saying this isn't proper football as they aren't playing league footie
How happy do you think they are with relegation, not once, but twice, since then?

I get that some people want that moment of glory, I do too, but not at the expense of hope for the future. I'll always prefer to look to the future with hope, than into the past for glory. I want to aim high - league titles - and be in contention every season. If we win trophies along the way - even better. But, I don't want to have a magical run, and then fade into mediocrity. You have to live with mediocrity - and I don't want that.

That is just not true - yet.

We don't have 20 players who are 1st team caliber. We are close, but we need to wait for the revenue stream of repeated CL spots and the new stadium to afford the wages necessary for that kind of depth.

You think Hugo, Toby, Jan etc want to be playing regularly in the CL, or dream of winning the Fa Cup.

Their priority would be the former everytime I reckon.

The reality is this, if we want to keep together a high quality squad, which is how you truly build more long term success across the board anyway, finishing regularly in the top four is crucial in achieving progression as a Club.

And as many have pointed out, that progression gives you a better chance of success whatever the competition you're aiming to win.

the fans would want a fa cup. but if i was a player i wont even give a flying fuck. its CL or nothing for me, ESPECIALLY if i know im a CL calibre player. if i was nicky butt then mehhh i will settle for a FA cup. but if i was hugo, toby, alli kane? come on CL teams compete in domestic cups competition as well.

This season's CL campaign can't have been much fun for the players, though.

Mentality on point, should stand us in good stead for the remainder of the season:

http://www.90min.com/posts/4454863-...his-season?utm_medium=share&utm_source=fotmob

As long as we take this same attitude into games once we know the title is out of reach we will be ok, I don't want to see us down tools after we are completely out of it, we have to finish as high as possible and if we can, win a trophy,

The latter may not happen and I can accept that but I think this team is good enough to finish 2nd, well actually I think it is good enough to finish 1st but I think Chelsea have just got too much ground on us at the moment, if they lose those two games pool/arse I will believe we have a better chance but as it stands right now I think it's too much for anyone to catch them.

Even if it is though, we have to keep pushing, last season at WHL to finish above Arsenal and really let the world know we aren't going anywhere soon and that last season wasn't a fluke, frankly I could care less if we do finish above Arsenal, I just want us to finish as high as possible and win a trophy if we can.

You really think that?

So if a year ago you offered Leicester fans two different scenarios, what would they choose?

1. A season when they win the PL, immediately followed by relegation and then 10 years of struggle.

2. 10 years of finishing safely in mid table in the PL.

I think 99% would choose option 1.

Winning things is what football is all about.

So many of our fans are turning into the 'top 4 is everything' brigade that fills the soulless Emirates.

Really worries me what our fans are becoming. I will make sure my boy never ends up thinking like this. It's not what following your team should be.

so how do we do this with the size of our squad? because from the 5th round of the FA Cup you then need to start playing a very strong XI, the same with the EL, and no guarantee of winning it, but what it would do is enhance a bigger possibility of injuries, which would most probably then even rule out a top 4 finish.

what would you prefer

1, go all out for everything, and end up with nothing

2, hope the right rotation can be found, and hope to get lucky in a cup, and finish 4th

our squad doesn't have the depth to go all out for everything
