Some poor stats but they don't show Davis stats for comparison

I think the main problem for Rose is that he can't tackle. Call me old-school but as a fullback you are first and foremost a defender, and as a defender you need the ability to tackle cleanly for most of the time and b aware in your positional play. Rose has good pace and strength, and is ok going forward. But when he loses the ball he also tends to lose his head and dives recklessly into tackles. It's almost a miracle he's not been sent off in a game yet.

Rose is a good squad player, and i think he has developed his game since last season. But in my opinion Davies is the better option, at least defensively. But then again, I'm not the manager.

I have to agree that a full back is firstly a defender. Rose has moments of brilliant defensive work but I feel he is inconsistent. He is a hard worker, to a point. There are times where he is beaten by an opposition players and despite having the pace to get back and make amends he seems to jog. Perfect example is the Arsenal goal - he's beaten by Welbeck (which can happen - but rather than sprint to cover the space he's ambling and is inching away from cutting out the cut back to Giroud which leads to the goal.)

Davies also has his own weaknesses as his lack of pace is a drawback in our pressing game due to his not pushing up on the opposition on the left side which leaves us open options so im personally not sure who is the better option

Shoddy article.

Is it worth posting drivel like this or is this an exercise in ppc and SEO?

Every time he goes one on one in and around our box I am expecting to see him give away a penalty or a free kick, he seems to lose his head and just pile in, then looks so surprised when he hears the whistle, so he never learns!

I dont think either of them are what we need so I cant say I prefer one over the other. We need the attacking outlet and we need a sensible defending head. Davies maybe slightly better on the ground but I have seen him several times caught out misreading a flighted ball plus he isnt as good forward as Rose. I feel Rose has been hard done to on here when he hasnt been helped out defensively by midfielders and above Locotoro says he was jogging after Welbeck, but Welbecks pace and stride left him for dead. The only option he would have had was to foul Welbeck. However I agree he can be rash when he tries to overcompensate for his size and stirde, giving fouls away.

Mauricio loves over-lapping full backs however as much as Davis is a better defender Rose is way superior in the attacking dept.

Tackling isn't the problem imo more positional awareness the same applies to Vertonghen who everyone seems to worship.
