I’d really not want to see him in the 8 as i don’t think he’d offer near enough going forward and his ability on the ball is limited. But like you say he isn’t really a 6 ether. Tbh he looks like a slightly better Skipp. Lots of energy but not particularly skilled in any area.

I think I rate him slightly higher than you do and see him differently as a player, he is 100% a box to box midfielder in my opinion, just not a massively impressive one or one that’s worth buying considering we already have two excellent ones in Sarr and Gio. We definitely need a solid replacement for PEH when he goes but I feel Gallagher would be a bit pointless. I think we would maybe be best served signing someone that can play 6 and 8 like Bentancur and Bissouma can due to Bents fitness issues and Bissouma’s lack of discipline. Kind of short term thinking though tbh, 6 is only going to be a problem during January. Perhaps we could loan someone like Phillips?

Tbf when he played high at Palace he had a knack of getting in really good goalscoring positions.

Reckon it might be sooner judging by quite a few of the reasonably well-adjusted Palace fans I know. That's certainly their hope. They're very grateful for all that Roy's done, but feel his battery has finally run out this season.
