Other than City not receiving punishment yet, although it is clear why, I don't know why Everton fans got so up in arms about the deduction. It was totally deserved by the rule book.

This was by far the best season to get that punishment and it has galvanised the players. They can now look forward instead of fearing the points deduction was to come.

It will be out of the way and Dyche is a good guy to have stability there.

Bloody hell. Fulham have gone from looking like a team who will struggle to score to smashing 2 defensive teams 5 nil in consecutive home games.

Have they won a league game recently where they weren’t fortunate to be playing 9 men playing the highest line in football history..?

Both of Everton's goals have been composed finishes (especially the 2nd), they've both come out to the edge of the box and it would've been so easy to smash them out for a goal kick or whatever.

Giving Everton a points deduction was weirdly the best thing for them. Gave them something to rally against that wasn't the team.

Yeah, quite possibly. Have to say though, that although I hated his Burnley team, Dyche is a very good manager.

Meh - they had already established themselves as a decent mid-table squad before the deduction. At the time, they had more wins that Luton, Burnley and Sheffield had combined.

After the deduction, they are still a solid mid-table squad - that is why the point deduction was never really much more of a penalty than a fine of a few million quid - depending on how many spots it costs them in the table. They were never a relegation threat - not this year.
