Based on what we’re seeing tonight and the fact that Fulham’s wins over prime relegation candidates Everton and Luton were pretty fortuitous, they’re definitely candidates for the drop if one of the promoted teams gets their shit together.

Are Man U and Chelsea mid table or shite?
That's fair question. If they carry on like this for a another couple of month we can pencil them into mid-table. Maybe throw Brentford and Forest in there.

That's about it I think. 8/9 good sides, 4 average and another 7/8 relegation fodder who should be thankful only 3 go down.

Leno can't save Fulham every time, and Chelsea had to win games eventually, but they have a difficult stretch of games coming after their next match (Burnley).

Palace, Wolves and Brentford surely count
Forgot Palace. Ok, 5 teams now. Likely another mentioned soon.

Question answered, yes there are mid-table teams still in the league.

Obliged to everyone for their input.

There’s definitely fewer than years gone by, mainly by virtue of the increasing number of good teams rather than the increasing number of awful ones imo.

That's a good way of looking it, and true too. The top 6, albeit with one them invariably having a wobbly year, and now Newcastle are flush. Add in Brighton and Villa who are well run and with good coaches and that's 9 alone who you'll usually have a tough game against. Nearly half the league.

Truth is, we're already in the European superleague. It just happens to be the English domestic top flight

And you haven’t even mentioned a team that won a European trophy last season….

They're easy to forget tbh but yes, not a bad side to round out the Traditional Top Ten™ as Sky will likely start calling it in their efforts to drum up drama by next season.

Fulham players look like they think they've still got Mitrovic up front. Just hopeful balls to no-one so far.

Ffs.

also Vinny isn't a very smart striker. Trying impossible headers when he could be knocking it down for oncoming mids
