They've had fuck all to play against though, bar United last week and Mourinho is such a tosser that he played into their hands. 2 weeks from now will be a big test for us but I think it'll be tough for them too.
Whilst the opposition hasn't been entirely difficult, many said he'd struggle in the Premier League and right now he certainly isn't. Regardless of Mourinho's error, they were exquisite at times last week and Pep still has to get them playing like that despite United's lack of drive. More so, they have pummelled teams in Europe too. It's early days but they are yet to drop a single point.

YES!

They might be forced to play £37m Sane instead.

:(
Yes small consolation but Sane does not pass like Nolito. Their intricate movement and passing up front will be affected. But the most important thing is to not give Debruyne the space that he is picking up the ball in today and in the united game.

Imagine for one second that refs didn't give gooners a helping hand. There's so much papering over cracks at that club it's ridiculous.

And that after either forgetting/ignoring (cheating) to adhere to the double jeopardy rule and send Livermore off.

I haven't seen any of the Arsenal game but the double jeopardy rule doesn't stop "cynical" play from being a red card and penalty. As long as the player makes a genuine attempt to play the ball then it can be a yellow card, like for Cech. Livermore stopped a goal with his hand, so that's still a red.

How long before the fans start calling him "Agent Wilshire", and rumours circulate that Wenger picked to send him there because he sees them as a threat

So far Guardiola is making some people eat their words. I honestly thought it would take him a couple of months to work his way with this team. Clearly not.

They have had a relatively benign start.
They had a winning streak at the start of last season, too.
They were the most potent attacking team last season.
Their problem last year was that they were defensively fragile.

So, with a benign start they have done no better than at the start of last season (which would be impossible since they had several consecutive victories), keeping them potent in attack. but, frankly, today is the first game I have missed and they still look defensively fragile in every single game I have seen. As soon as they have been put under any pressure at all they have lacked composure. They virtually gave United a draw as soon as they were put under any pressure - the United goal was a gift, and United should also have had a penalty.

I have no doubt he is a gifted manager. He may improve their defence. They may just be able to blast their way to the title. But I can't see any cause whatsoever to say he has answered any questions regarding his ability to cope with the added intensity of the English game, or that he has significantly improved the Citeh defence. Let's wait and see how he reacts to some set-backs, eh?

Some of City's football today was stunning. Gundogan and DeBruyne are top players. Once Aguero is back and Kompany is fit, they'll be pushing hard for both the PL and CL titles.

As for Arsenal, I don't think they've played well at all this season so far. Yet the have 10 points from 5 games, same as Liverpool who have been far better than them. Leicester also looked very good today with Slimani now playing with Vardy and Mahrez. Contrary to the belief that they'd collapse having to play twice a week, today shows that they have absolutely no problems with midweek matches now that they've beefed up their squad considerably. I think they and Everton will be right there on the periphery of top 4/6 scaring teams all season.

I see the wankfest over Pep and Man City has started already. How about we wait till they've played some teams harder than an average at best Man Utd?

Yeah of course. I said let's wait to see in a post later on. And I agree with everything you said but there's also a good possibility that Pep may just make this City team a destructive force. Although I do think that we will give them a tough game.

I don't understand comments like this. I was merely making an observation on the proof that has been provided so far. What's 'wankfesty' about that?

Why do people on this website try to use past seasons as evidence of what will happen this season? Chelsea started well two seasons ago and ROMPED to the title. City started well in the two seasons they won the title in the last 6 years, as did United in 2012-2013. This City squad is NOTHING like last season. Do people here realize De Bruyne missed MONTHS of games for them, and they were dropping lots of points when he was out? They would've finished ahead of us if he had been healthy. Aguero missed time, Silva missed time, Kompany missed lots of time. They've bought a world class CM in Gundogan, bought a PL proven CB in Stones, bought a very good footballer in Nolito and have arguably the best manager of the last decade in world football. They also have some of the best U-21 talent in world football like Sane, Iheanacho, Gabriel Jesus. They are a top team. We might even beat them in two weeks time with Aguero out, but over the course of a tough, long slog of a season, they're squad is going to be very difficult to overcome for anyone.
