Your interpretation is absolutely miles off.

The intention isn't remotely to "stick the boot in" or "create this impending sense of doom" - what on earth are you even talking about? What sense of doom? Why would I be sticking any boots anywhere?

The point is that this has been a shambolic pre-season which has done Ange and the team absolutely no favours - that's just a fact, as is being widely opined and reported across Spurs sources and media. It can't be seen as anything but, given the need to get as much time on the pitch as possible.

I'm not adding to any hysteria - I have absolutely no idea what hysteria you're talking about - and yes by the time we play another game Arsenal will have indeed played 4 friendlies, which is true whether you like it or not.

Such a weird and overly-sensitive series of posts - you're gunning at me over an angle and intention which simple doesn't exist, rather than stepping back and looking at the actual things which are happening.

Which is ironic considering that is exactly what he regularly accuses other posters of doing.

Arsenal's Dick is bigger than ours but Liverpools Dick is smaller than ours and Brentfords is cuter etc etc. That's all I'm reading the last page or 2.

Liverpool literally played in Bangkok and Singapore last year. In our most PL successful season ever went from Australia to Norway then to Hong Kong.
And our stodgy start under Nuno was all pre season games in England I think

No skin in the game in this argument but we won our first three games under Nuno and were top of the league.
Oh I'm fully aware, but they were all 1 nil, we looked awful in doing it, played badly and ultimately tanked.

Of course it could be argued that we were fitter so won. However, having watched the games that wasn't the case. We got lucky and other teams weren't at it yet, once they were we looked awful.

We'll see next season what Ange prefers as he'll have had little input into this pre season plan - this point being the only thing that I worry about. He has actually said that he thinks that getting everyone away together could be good to build team spirit and have a hard reset.

Ultimately there are so many things we don't know it's not worth any of us worrying about.

Lastly, we really need to remember that Ange has said that this project will take time. If we start the league slowly it won't be because of a rained off game in Thailand. It'll be because he's changing literally everything about how we play. I really don't want the kind of negativity and nervousness on these boards and places like it to bleed into the season. That won't help the team.

I dread to think how some of you lot cope when life throws little curveballs and spanners in works in your way.

When you plan a BBQ and it gets rained out do you catastrophise and overanalyse that too?

It is what it is. Not ideal but such is life. Suck it up, deal with it and move on.

If it wasn't for cheapskate Levy and his richest prices in the world i would've been able to afford that gazebo and that fancy BBQ with the lid... Now the chicken Won't get cooked and everyone will die :cautious:

(1) you underestimate how much I like BBQ
(2) you underestimate how willing I am to stand next to a BBQ with a brolly.

We have 11 days after the game in Singapore before we play Shakhtar. I’m sure we can get another friendly in there even if it’s behind closed doors.

It seems they had a proper match vs each other today, not often in training do you see them all wearing shin pads.
Don't think it would happen, but I'd love them to put up extended highlights of something like this.

I imagine we'll get a crappy 30 second video from ground level and 5/6 pictures though.

Not a drop of rain in Bangkok today. I was commuting home from work today in sunshine with a nice breeze. If only the game had been scheduled for this evening.

I’m sad because I’m a Spurs fan and I couldn’t get to see my team play in the city I now call home. But I saw people at the stadium who had travelled from all over Thailand and South-East Asia (saw a big group from Myanmar) to see the game. It’s not at all easy to get a visa for the UK from Thailand or other ASEAN countries so this would have been the best chance for many to watch Spurs play in person. For them it must be devastating.
