Seems that midfielder role skipp is playing will be much more involved in attack. A lot of great chances and great runs coming from Skipp.

I'm not enamoured by Ange, but you can't put much stock in pre-season games.

Today doesn't mean much and I wouldn't draw any conclusions from it. It'd be mad to.

But I don't expect much from Ange. I really hope I'm wrong and he has my support but I think it's a disaster of an appointment and he'll be found out by Christmas.

My track record in this area isn't great. I didn't want Jol, Harry or Poch and wanted Santini, Jose, Conte and Ramos. So expect Ange to be hoisting the PL above his head come May.

Solomon and Maddison have already bought a bit of spark to a front line that was a quite flat last season.

It's kind of crazy the number of times Skipp has run forwards and gotten into good positions due to the way we're set up. Really encouraging IMO and I think we might see plenty of goals come from our midfield due to this

Skipp is decent at this but if you can imagine Bentancur getting into those positions then you can really start to see how good this could be.

Normally i'd be going in two footed on our defence - probably helped that i'm not actually watching - but putting aside the obvious 'this is pre-season', it's also going to be a massive overhaul in how we structure our team and how we play.

Naive to think there won't be teething troubles, especially defensively from a set of players so used to low block, counter attacking footballing but that's also not withstanding the fact that we do need multiple defensive reinforcements.
