Positive from last night

Last night was probably the worst performance from spurs since this current team has been assembled, but that was due to the four attacking players (modric, vdv, defoe and adebayor) failing to hold on to the ball and do anything with it, they looked so uninterested.

the positive, well for me the motm was livermore, he was everywhere trying to push forward and defending well, parker was also good, both of them played well considering they were the first line of defence and most likely to hold the ball up to give the defence a break. then there was the defenders who threw their bodies in the way of everything, plus cudicini was excellent.

We were lucky last night, but it always was going to be tough when there were only 7 players interested in the game, so congratulations to them, it was a deserved win, and a reminder to us that our attacking flair would be nothing without them.

I don't understand the glowing reports Livermore is getting. I just posted in the match thread how I felt his passing and positioning was shit. His passing choices were pretty negative, and ultimately he was a contributing factor in our lack of shape and possession.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's done brilliantly this season when he's come in, and I think he's got a great premiership future ahead of him, but he looked amateurish at times in the first half. Yes he threw himself around and got stuck in, but he also highlighted the importance of having a player like Modric controlling the flow of the game from the middle.

There were few positives to be taken from that but Livermores performance was relatively bright.....ok you got what it said on the tin but he was one of the few actually winning tackles and making recovery runs....have another look now you know we have won:wink:

I thought his Passing was far better than Parker's who was caught dwelling on the ball and then just kicking it no where in particular. He Seems to take an age to weigh up what to do with the ball, and invariably then just gives it to someone under pressure.

Livermore's technique looks real good no panic in possesion and quick to spot a pass, look forward to seeing him develop

I was shocked at how ofetn players were slipping on the pitch - like wrong stud choice. Parker's worst performance for me. Modric went missing on the elft and exposed Rose too often.

Positives? Cudicini has only let one goal in this season and did enough to continue that little stat. He is a terrific back-up to Brad.

Dawson is getting game time, which will be a positive in matches ahead.

Rose is capable as an understudy to LOL.

I dont think he was amazing last night but did well comapred to others, it must be difficult for the young players if the senior players around them are having a stinker and he aquitted himself reasonably well. The one really bad moment was the shocking first touch that gave the ball away and gave them a great chance to equalise. Apart from that neat and tidy, hassled them well at times and looked like he gave a shit, which given some of the effort of others last night automatically puts him in my good books.

He was the only steady performer in midfield, he is there to break up the play and distribute the ball, he performed better than vdv, modric, lennon and parker, his passing can be sideways but he usally goes to the flanks and spreads the play, for what he is there to do I think he did a great job

Livermore is just a much worse version of Jenas. People take off your rose tinted glasses the boy has massive holes in his basics of passing and positioning. The boy plays himself into danger but then looks good by do something last ditch to get homself out of it. Livermore would struggle to play for a championship side he is not going to make it in the Premiership and if he miraculously does it won't be at Spurs.

Let's be honest the only positive thing from last night was the result

Let's put that performance behind us and do Wigan Tuesday

To make an argument by saying he was better than some others who were 'even worse than him' doesn't bode well

And I've got to stick up for Lennon. He did ok for his 45 mins on the wrong side of the pitch!!

How did Rose play, didn't see the game?
Did see an interview with Harry after, never has he looked so twitchy.

He's more than held his ground against Premier League opponents. One bad game doesn't ruin a player.

Cudicini's performance would count as a positive I guess. Always solid when he comes in for his odd appearance, been a fan of his since he arrived at the club. Dont think there is much between him and Friedel personally.
