I'd say the author is a fan! That said a very well written article with some interesting comparisons. The only irritation was that some smoke got in my eyes as I was nearing the end! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It is worth considering, though, the nature of Tottenham when Pochettino took over in 2014: that Tottenham was a team deep in the shadow of its two fiercest rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea; one that only occasionally featured in the Champions League; one that few, even among its most ardent fans, considered genuine contenders for the Premier League title.

Over the course of Pochettino’s almost five seasons at the club, all of that has been transformed. Tottenham is now, certainly, a better team than either Arsenal or Chelsea. It has become a fixture in the Champions League, with a place in this season’s quarterfinals well within its grasp.

Since Pochettino took charge, only one team — Manchester City — has won more points in the Premier League. Twice, Tottenham has mounted sustained challenges for a first English championship since 1961.

And yet some people still aren't fucking happy

Great article. I think we are starting to get the recognition we deserve. We are now expected to be in the top 4, this season was slightly anomalous due to the world cup factor, the stadium and then not buying any players. That all served to throw the pundits into safe prediction mode. We're it not for that, we would have universally been expected to be in the top 4.

It is an amazing achievement, not just by poch and the team, but by the club as a whole. We are doing something unique, almost impossible. We are building success in a time when it is bought. Leicester have not achieved success, they won something. A great achievement, but not one that they will sustain or repeat. They are the same club now as they were before they won the league, mid table. We haven't won anything yet we are far from the club that existed 10 years ago or the one that poch took over. We are now one of the most exciting and attractive clubs in world football. We are one step away from reaching the elite level.

It is a truly wonderful time to be a spurs fan.
