What will remain to be seen is whether AVB is the right man for the transition or whether it would have been a wiser move to headhunt someone younger, forward-thinking but with a more traditional approach to perhaps try and pick up and continue from where Harry left off. I wasn't a huge fan of bringing in Rodgers just because I wasn't sure he was ready yet but there is a bit of me that, if things go badly, will wonder if the wrong managers went to the wrong teams.
We were kind of tailor-made for Rodgers though he would have had to find serious replacements for VDV and Modric too whereas Pool need a refit. Then again, I seriously doubt AVB would get the time he needed there.
It does.
AVB wasn't my first choice.
But what I don't like, personally, is the feeling that there are still fans obsessed with their disagreement with the dismissal of Mr Redknapp who appear to have been frothing at the gash at the chance to go on the offensive if AVB had a slow start.
Me, once George Graham was appointed I wanted him to succeed with all my heart - and that was some transition.
