Every time I watch Bissouma, I think 2 things: (1) what an amazing player (2) how much of a football **** Conte was for not playing him.

2. Played in 23 matches last season, was injured for 12 matches (Ankle Injury) but keep perpetuating that stupid lie that Conte didn't play him.

This is EPL games alone BTW. This was with us using PEH and Bentancur as our duo who managed to get us into the CL the previous season and they kept us comfortably in 4th until the world cup break.

He was never going to come in and head straight into the starting 11.

It's really not that hard to use google and find the facts if you're looking for them.

If my maths is right he played just over 1000 minutes which means on average he played around 43 minutes per performance.

This suggests he came on as a sub quite a lot.

I think the correct criticism of Conte in regards to Bissouma was he tried getting him to play a certain way rather than using him to his strengths.

The last 3 games have shown just how bloody good he is if you just let him play his natural game.

100%, you can't expect to put a player like Bissouma in a box tactically when he is literally at his best when he's allowed the freedom to dominate the midfield.

The same criticism can be levelled at Conte for pretty much any player we had under him, sometimes it works (PEH had his best season ever last season) but most of the time it takes a very specialist player to pull off those mind numbing instructions.

OP's post however was a blatant lie.

Between matchday 1 and 22 (pre-injury) he featured in every game in some capacity, whilst we were comfortably in the top 4 with PEH/Bentancur starting most games.

There was no reason to change that duo, we were performing well with those two starting. Conte isn't a manager to change personnel and we all know he tends to stick to his preferred 11 as much as possible.

When he arrived, he wasn't match fit and he was struggling to adjust to the tactical system. (Literally Bissouma's own words)

Post injury Conte was already sacked.

It's a complete fallacy that Conte didn't play him.

I went in transfermarkt to look up his stats, and saw they have an €18m valuation on him. What the hell are they smoking?

Transfermarkt is very good for statistics but their valuations are almost always off the mark. He’s easily a £100+ million player in today’s market.

It was always going to be a struggle for him to get minutes as Conte sacrificed a midfielder for an extra defender because that's Contes way. I'm no fan of 352/343 or 532 in our case. Whichever way you look at it he played about 800 minutes of football [38 minutes a game] before he was injured which was the game before Rodrigo which was bad luck as he would have then featured more probably. The circumstances around the club last year were quite difficult, with Conte losing to friends in GV and GV and then the two injuries to Yves and the game after to Rodrigo.

If you’re going to be unpleasant, why post? You can make your point without being insulting of condescending.

Bissouma started 10 games last season, 8 out of 28 under Conte.

So you can blatantly lie and call Conte a **** for not playing him, which is one of the worst words you can throw at someone, yet when I correct you, it’s time to pull out the good ol’ gaslighting technique? And I’m being unpleasant? :ROFLMAO:

He played just over 1000mins last season, the equivalent of 11 games. He’s been trusted by Ange this season and has been our best player in my opinion. Between him, Saar, Skipp & bentancur we have really good options.

The whole "Conte made them shit" arguement is so boring. It's on player and manager to perform. Look at richarlison, wasn't great under Conte and not great under Ange so far.

Kulu's best form came under conte and so did his worst form.

Son had his most prolific form under conte and also some of his worst.

Harry was sublime under Conte and Mourinho and would have been under Ange.

Bentancur looked creative and expansive under Conte where as Bissouma didn't find his feet and got injured.

Hopefully Richarlison, Son and Kulusevski find there form under Ange it's entirely plausible and like ange said post match football is non linear, ups and down, peaks and troughs.

Who would you rather have in your midfield? Peak Bissouma or Peak Dembele?

Dembele is one of my favourite players to play for spurs and very underrated in the football world. I would definitely pick dembele atm but you never know after a few seasons of bissouma.
