Saw this a couple of days ago, surprised it wasn’t shared here.

Really hope he has a top season in 2023/24, better than what he’s ever shown in the PL thus far.

If he can get back to the player he was at Brighton, Postecoglou will love him. Hopefully he can quickly forget the Conte 'system' that took him so long to learn and made him a shadow of his former self. I sincerely hope Ange takes the handbrake off and lets him express himself on the pitch, and all the evidence suggests that's exactly what he'll do.

He should walk that competition. Vastly better player than Skipp or PEH.
IMO, If PEH stays, he will be fighting for one of the #8 spots. I think people forget how good he was in his first season here (IIRC he was our player of the season) playing in a 3 man midfield and he looks a lot player playing higher up as an 8 for Denmark.

I think Bissouma and Skipp will be fighting for the 6, though I do worry about how Skipp plays whilst being pressed.

He could explode for us under Ange's style of football, he’s a serious serious baller and showed that at Brighton, had injures and didn’t suit conteball or his 3-4-3 at all

Bissouma is head shoulders knees and toes above Skipp, there should be no fighting for the 6, if that is where Ange favours both of them then it would be Bissouma being picked 10x out of 10.

Excited for big things to come from him next season in a possession system.

I agree, if we get Brighton Bissouma (which I think we will) rather than Conte Bissouma. But just as Bissouma should be given a pass for how he looked under Conte, so too should Skipp and PEH.

I do too. I think PEH would be much better in the 8 role than the 6. He has underrated vision and can make those passes when there are open options and he’s way more effective pressing that sitting. He can even grab goals. I know I was down on PEH in another thread but that was more down to his passing under pressure, he still has plenty of quality to be a big piece for us.

Can’t see Skipp suiting the 6 role either because he isn’t good enough beating the press.

Say it softly but Skipp is the midfielder that’s least likely to find a role in Postecoglou’s midfield imo.. I think Bissouma and Sarr are better suited to the 6 role while Hojbjerg / Bentancur can play as 8s.

lol.

Sarr still isn't getting in past Skipp.

Infact, if he stays fit I'm happy to wager Skipp plays more games than anyone.

Anyone else noticed that he’s come back for pre-season with loads of energy and positivity? Seems to be trying to bring on some of the younger players as well. Big things from him this season I think.

he's a monster of a player when he's on it. expecting big things from him with full fitness and the shackles off.

I thought he looked good in his last 3 games with us.

I've also noticed that he is featuring heavily in the pre season videos. I wonder if this is deliberate.

Yeah noticed that too. Proper character with great positive vibes. I think it's because he was injured last season and didn't have a great season. It's that hunger to be back doing what he loves and it clearly shows.

Wonderful player. I do hope he is given the chance and the luck with injuries to show us that this season.

That is good news - we all know what a good player he is, on form he is one of the best midfielders in the league. Really hope he can stay fit and start to establish himself with us. With Bissouma and Bentancur we have a very, very strong midfield if they stay fit.

Was so excited when we signed him and then so disappointed at how badly he was used by Conte (or how poorly he adapted to Conte's system).

Feels like his Spurs career properly starts this season. Between Conte, his injury and our sloppy finish, last year was practically a complete write-off for him.

Watching him in the pre-season videos and he seems to be taking on some leadership responsibility.

I said last year that he would be our best signing of last summer - what I meant was, he will be our best signing for the 23/24 season...
