That is just not true I’m afraid. Ledley was a great defender but he wasn’t better in every single respect compared to Toby, that’s just silly.

Okay, not better in every single aspect. He was faster, stronger, better on the ball and at bringing it out of defence, more two footed, a better passer, more of a goal threat from set pieces, more agile, and a better tackler though. He was also far more of a leader.

Toby is better at waxing his hair though.

Edit - ok I thought of one that I will grant you. Long diagonal passes from the back out to the wing.

Even then, some of Ledley's passes with either foot were just ridiculous.

So what will happen if Toby doesn't leave to United? Is he then not for sale, we take the option in his contract and we HAVE to learn to get on and play him?

Trouble is we can only sell him if we get another CB or DM in. Particularly with injury concerns over Wanyama. We're running out of time now so we may have to stick with him. Still selling for 25m isn't too bad in a years time if we get another top season out of him. We'll have got our money worth over the past few years and made a profit on his sale. That's better than strenghtening Utd.

Even if he does (and I don't see that's confirmed for sure) I'm sure he wants a replacement. If we can't get a replacement then I can't see us selling him.

Playing devils advocate, what if we couldn't get Martial, but we got someone like Rojo, who could play back up for Vertonghen and is younger than both Belgians, with Foyth and CCV as understudy to Sanchez? Oh, and a huge wad of cash?

I'd rather we get the Celta lad to be honest, especially if Wanyama doesn't recover we'd have another natural DM. But we should sell him abroad if we can't get Martial.

Would'nt read too much into this as the players are contractually obligated to do these things for the media

If he was 100% off he wouldn't have featured at all. But also if he was staying he would have featured more prominently than a split second clip of one of the probably 30 odd poses he was asked to do. As you say probably means nothing.

I don’t doubt that the club are trying to reach an agreement and have him moved on to gain a pretty price this summer, rather than a lower fee due to the release clause next year - but, with two days to go it does seem odd considering he is still doing duties behind the scenes etc... maybe they are slowly easing him back in the picture, as it’s beginning to look likely he may not be off just yet, just in case he doesn’t actually go. Unless of course he gets sold abroad once our window has closed.

A few players were absent from the particular videos, if you check the Instagram accounts player and club, everyone including both Moussa’s and Wanyama were involved, just weren’t included in the snippets
