A false dichotomy, even.False choice.
A false dichotomy, even.False choice.
Imo there's no way he's staying unless he signs a new contract. All the more importance to keep him if we're going to add pretty much nothing to the squad.
Often used similarly but I reserve that (false dichotomy) for those 'distinctions without a difference-type' of situations.A false dichotomy, even.
Hard to get your gist because of the grammar but no one mentioned sacking Poch, straw man.
...yeah, exactly what are you saying?
People can do what they want and it is not yours to tell them how they should do this. This trilogy of posts was quite a mess by you. Here's hoping you clean up the logic, rhetoric and grammar in future posts so that those that choose to read your posts can reasonably follow them...you know, considering the frequency.
Ah, I have no such compunctionOften used similarly but I reserve that for those distinctions without a difference type of situations.
I want to see the Venn diagram of SC members that you've constructed. Show your workings to get the mark.Absolutely nothing wrong with the grammer, thanks. Patronising as fuck.
It's two dimensional thinking if you can't understand the point being made. There are plenty of people on here who flat out refuse to accept any criticism of Pochettino in any way, and throw out complaints of the manager "not being backed"...
...Yet, when he's clearly being backed (by moving out players who he wants moved, like Walker and Alderweireld), the same people slag the club off for those decisions.
If you can't see the clear paradoxical nature of those opinions, no amount of "rhetoric" is going to help.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the grammer, thanks.

Eh? So you that follows that you seem to think we should sack Poch just because some of the fans don't agree with his management
You really don't see how this is the exact same situation as Walker last year? Club finds out it can survive without, start playing less, then trying to sell for top value... Meanwhile turning the fans opinion on how good he was, then we realize the replacement isn't near as good when we don't have him. Its the exact same situation.
Why can't we be upset that we're about to slag off our world class CB (to a rival) and probably not bring in a replacement (or at least an adequate one). I'm glad I'm not a ST holder, I would be furious with this summers activities.
you bast*rd. I picked it up on re-read, edited and then noticed yours. The spelling on the other hand .
What bigger games? Cause when we played the three of them in the prem together we pitched something like 5/7 clean sheets and held Real Madrid to 2 goals in 2 games. One of which a stupid penalty from Serge.Walker was allowed to go because he let the club know he wanted to go, and for the rest of his playing days with us, wasn't the same Walker.
Now looking like Rose hasn't been forgiven as he apparently is on his way.
by the sounds of it Toby (even if not via the press) has upset a lot of people, whose to say he would truly give 100% after all that's gone on. you quoted your stats a good few post again, but when I quoted a similar post awhile ago stating in the bigger games Toby wasn't much of an improvement you didn't react.
Yes Toby is a top defender, even if he has acted like a complete prick, but with no guarantee of playing 3 at the back regular (pointless v bus parkers), why should Sanchez lose out if we play a back 4 with a high line, when he is a lot quicker than Toby
Now, my criticism of this post was not its grammar but rather the straw man that you threw up.

JC man your reasoning is very poor. I could attempt to point out its flaws but it would just be re-hashing the same things I posted earlier with the same logical fallacies. Just because you restate it doesn't make it more valid or true. Let's agree to leave it and not further derail this thread. If you spent more time reading the conversation and less picking up on the faults of predictive text input on smart phones then you'd be less likely to get in a grump about "straw men".
I stated "We, as fans, either need to accept that we back the manager - or not."
Which was replied to with:
"We really don't, you don't improve by just accepting faults at this level."
The only logic implication of such a statement facepalm:) is that we shouldn't accept Pochettino and his faults or else we won't improve, hence:
"Eh? So that follows that you seem to think we should sack Poch just because some of the fans don't agree with his management"
Don't worry though, I've removed the added word 'you', as apparently it made the whole thing completely unreadable
I've never said he looked world class in the games he came back, but I believe that he wasn't getting game time (massively important for a CB) and probably not back to full strength. I want them all to come back and play together because they were a dominant group and we were a dominant team. I'm not sure what to say on the rest, I've never said we didn't concede when he played?the season before the only big team we didn't concede was v Man C, you keep throwing in the semi, if he had played, yet forget the 4-2 loss v Chelsea when they hardly had any attacks.
He never played many games when he come back, but the games he did he looked v poor in, and 2 of those where against lower league opposition in the FA Cup
