Being fit alone wouldn’t do the trick for Conte anyway IMO. If memory serves, the more common criticism from our managers (not just AC) has been that he needs to play for the team/system, not for himself.

It's fine being clear with him, it's another thing hoping someone actually wants to sign him.

I think our approach this summer is finally acting like a big club. Even if we take them on tour, it'll be clear to some of these players that they aren't part of our plans and won't be playing much if ever.

The other part is us accepting that to move the likes of Ndombele out, we'll likely need to take a bit of a bath on them.

I watched a few of the Lyon games. He was ok. A few flashes of skill but he didn’t impose himself on games.

If Poch, Jose & Conte can’t get you performing for more than 1 game in 10, then you’re just not cut out to be a top player.

Oh I'm sure he wants out. But I'm a lot less sure about whether he's prepared to accept significantly lower wages and playing for a lower team outside the CL etc.

The main issue will always be the wages, I think we are happy to take a hit on the fee as long as we can get rid.
