Levy was just thrown off last year as the window doesn't usually open till august 31st but it closed early last summer. He's prepared now.

Poor excuse!

One can negotiate a transfer anytime in the year I would have thought, whilst the window for the move is limited!

This summer feels different and I think Sess, Lo Celso and Ndombele will be done fairly quickly...well quicker than we normally leave it. I think RB is where we're going to struggle to find players of enough quality and availability and also most of our transfer budget will have gone on those 3.

Toby will almost definitely go, so we probably need a new CB and I believe Eriksen will sign a new contract...eventually. The RB position still worries me but I'd happily keep Trips or Aurier as back up because that's how good they are, back up squad players just like Ben Davies on the left. We need to sell one and buy one on the right side though imho

It's the hope that kills you

Tottenham could break their transfer record twice this summer.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/foot...enham-prepared-break-transfer-record-16515286

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen on Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele but they will not be held to ransom by Real Betis and Lyon.

Daniel Levy remains determined to drive a hard bargain despite giving Pochettino funds to strengthen this summer.

Spurs have already had a bid worth up to £53m for Betis midfielder Lo Celso rejected but are set to make an improved offer over the next few days.

And they are also confident a deal can be struck with Lyon for Ndombele after opening talks with the Ligue 1 club for the £71m-rated France midfielder.

Tottenham have no intention of paying the full asking price for Ndombele, 22, who impressed in the Champions League last season.

And they are also unwilling to pay Betis the full £88.9m release clause in Argentina star Lo Celso’s contract.

But there is a realisation that each player will cost more than the £42m club record fee Spurs paid Ajax for Davinson Sanchez in 2017.

It has also emerged that Atletico Madrid launched a rival £49m bid for Lo Celso, who remains Tottenham’s priority.

But the north Londoners remain confident the 23-year-old, who is expected to star at this summer’s Copa America, wants to join them.

Having not made a single signing in the last two transfer windows, Mauricio Pochettino wants the Champions League fianlists to spend big this summer to close the gap on champions Manchester City and Liverpool , and the club are determined to back him.

Pochettino is targeting midfield as the key area to strengthen due to Christian Eriksen’s bombshell decision to leave.

I’m about 2 minutes into the video and he hasn’t misplaced a pass yet, he’s cut the backline open every time!

They are the good bits lad. Easy ?

He’s improved from last season but not the finished article. However I think he has a high ceiling.

I think he is the creative box to box buy. Not sure about the Argie now.

I don’t agree with the last sentence. I think we’re after both, albeit in the expectation that Eriksen will leave

Daily Mirror saying we're gonna break the bank and get both Lo Celso and Ndombele. Imo that's what's been missing last season. A sturdy midfield with rotation option. Next should be a right back and backup striker and we're there, ready for next season

Cmon Levy, sign a fkin midfielder. Reckon sell on / clauses are gonna be obstacles in the "negotiations" for both. Barring acts of God, we could expect to sell both to Real in their mid-20s for a tasty profilt. Before we take Bale back on a Bosman.

The selling clubs will be looking for 20-25%?

DL will offer them 5% and then they'll haggle for a while before DL congratulates them on negotiating up to 5% (y)
