Wouldn't be end of the world if we failed to replace Alder, We have Vert, Sanchez, Foyth and Dier for the cb roles, Llorente I'm fine not replacing as we can switch it up with Son, Moura and fingers crossed Lo Celso. Other 2 need replacing.
I agree that of the players listed Toby is the one that least needs to be replaced. He was already effectively replaced in the 2017-2018 season when he was ostracized and Sanchez stepped in for him. Between Vertonghen, Sanchez, Foyth, Dier, and Davies we'd have all the squad depth we need at the CB position. With so much business to be done this summer, I think we could get away just fine leaving a new CB acquisition until January or next summer, when IMO we ought to look to bring in a hugely talented young left-footer with a view to being the long-term Vertonghen replacement.

We always fail to complete one or two necessary transfers every window. Just gonna be interesting who out of Trippier, Toby, Wanyama and Llorente we're going to fail to replace.

Given the past 15 years or so....it will be Llorente.

We will get linked to 35 different potential backup strikers and sign 0 of them. On deadline day we will suddenly be linked with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to ensure our annual tradition of disappointment continues.

Agreed. Still confident in Dier as a CB. Would only leave slight concerns at LCB if Vertonghen were to pick up an injury but I doubt it would be the end of the world.

With better full backs and midfield players hopefully they would be better protected as well.

LOL "has been summoned in Doha".
Such ominous looks on their faces.
Wouldn't be surprised if they were fed through a wood chipper & their remains scattered in the neighbouring desert as camel fodder.

I was with you up until the last bit. Camels are herbivores :pompous:.

Guys ffs this is the Ndombele thread. Want to discuss Toby? He has a thread. Lo Celso? He has a thread. Trippier? He has a thread.

Its so frustrating to see 2 more pages and its filled with everything other than Ndombele talk.

Here's ya fackin Ndombele chat.

Courted by the #PSG, Tanguy #Ndombele may not be so far away from the #PremierLeague. #Tottenham pushes for the French international. In case of agreement, the OL could recover around 70 M € for the midfielder

So now this Nabil guy has said we're after both.. judging from people on Twitter however, he's a bit of a joke and "journalist" should be used somewhat lightly when describing him.

Don't get too excited yet lads

He was first on the Lucas and Nkoudou deals. He's not a joke.

He used to be considered very reliable. Must've had some bad calls.

I have no doubt we're after both players at this point, getting them to the finish line is the hard part.
Biggest question for me is if we're lining them both up in case one falls through so that we'd be at an advanced stage with our other top choice, or if we genuinely want to bring in both. The latter option would signify a shift to a CM3 setup IMO.
