Wanted Ndombele since watching him best the shit out of City, assumed he was out of our league though. Would be relatively pleased with this, I guess.

The timing all seems right.

Di Marzio and Romano will hear things from the top agencies and clubs. Stuff like 'interested in' is likely to lead nowhere but stuff like bids made/agreed is a big call and likely has some weight behind it.

We've had consistent and mostly positive updates from french and UK media, and even ITKs, including positive developments at the weekend.

The player has spoken well about us publicly and Lyon have already signed a replacement (which is their process as stated by the chairman).

I think it's gonna happen lads*

Fabrizio Romano reporting now on twitter that we're close... he's usually pretty accurate ...

From my experience Romano is a bullshitter but I shall put the logical part of my brain to one side.

Really? I've only ever to know him tweet when a transfer is about to happen but have only been following him for about a year...

I've been pretty pessimistic about this whole Ndombele saga but I think it might just happen!? :nailbiting:

Come on, he's probably just copying Di Mazio's tweet.

I hate to be pessimistic but alot of these guys just join the dots like the rest of rather than having real sources. Everyone saw that Aulas said if a young box-to-box midfielder arrives then NDombele could leave. This coupled with the fact we've been continually linked means chancers like Di Mazio will take a plunge and say the deal is nearly done just so they can claim they had the info first. This in turn raises their profile and therefore means more traffic goes to their website and they make more money.

I'm not believing anything until we hear it from a reliable source.

Apparently the same dude reported Oxlade-Chamberlain to Chelsea was done when he was at the scum. False alarm people.

This Tweet needs to be auto-replied to anyone who complains about how long it takes us to do a deal.

That’s the view of a United fan!

Yeah mate, we were linked yesterday and - boom - he’s signing. There is definitely not a Spurs messageboard in existence with 150 pages of menstrual breakdowns and arguments. Absolutely not. (n)

Just hope we don’t do one of those really w***ky unveiling videos. Just some kind of ceefax style screen shot would do. Retro.

Proper cracking up how Ricky Sacks is clearly busy tonight for once in his life and hasn’t reported this.

The more reputable ITKs are usually a bit more forthcoming with info once it hits the press like this, so fingers crossed we hear something tonight. That said, I'll fully believe we're getting gazumped until it's official anyway.
