indeed. video posted by Legend above makes me drool at the prospect of him breaking down the press so we dont have to resort to the CB > Forward "just boot it" strategy of late. break down the pressing line, move into space, attack while running downhill and quickly finding running mids/FWs. yes please. like a faster (maybe stronger?) dembele, equally good touch. really hope this comes through.
Agree with everything you said. On top of that, his incredible skill and versatility allows him to adapt to a variety of different play styles. Considering Poch loves to change tactically game to game based on the opposition, that tactical flexibility will be paramount and a massive asset to the team.

i am hoping that the deal is done and we are just waiting for Lyon to get their replacement in before we announce him.

*fingers crossed*

If we’re making a fair comparison to Dembele it’d be a lie to say he’s as good at dribbling. He resembles a slightly more in control Sissoko where it looks like chaos but ends up working, Dembele looked like he was playing against children with his close control

Statistically, he's as close as makes no difference.

I want to see this guy team up with Sissoko in the centre of the park and watch the opposition reaction

In all serious, he looks quality!

Oh, well why don't you step into my office. He's an elite box-to-box midfielder with incredible first touch and dribbling ability, as well as top-notch passing range and vision. You'll see people compare him to Dembele, which is partly accurate in terms of the strength and ability to progress the ball and get out of tricky situations with his dribbling. Ndombele, though, is smaller but a much more explosive athlete in terms of speed and quick-twitch movement. Defensively, he's stout, aggressive, and reads the game very well. Turns defense into attack rapidly. With all of this said, his best trait may be his high football IQ. Seems to know exactly where the ball needs to go before receiving the ball and has the ability to play every single pass in the book. At 22 years old, there's a reason one of the most sought after midfielders in recent memory.

For those interested in seeing the range of his abilities, this is a solid video that showcases what he's all about. It breaks it up by dribbling, passing, and defense. Note that some of his best contributions come against top teams like Man City and Barca in the UCL and PSG in Ligue 1.

Really wish I didn’t watch that. Short of not scoring 30 yarders each week, does he have any other weaknesses?

Just watched half of that video - my first time of really seeing anything of this chap - and I haven't wanted to someone to sign for us as much as this since Soufiane Boufal*.

* I really, really wanted him to sign**.

** Yeah, that would have been a terrible signing to make and clearly my judgement is all over the shop, but hey, Tanguy could still be a legend***, right?

*** What's your normal account, because @The Legend of Tanguy is the most clear duplicate SC signup there's been since @Archibald&Crocks?

Madrid have sold Llorente to Atletico. Reckon they have someone lined up (the cynic in me thinks Tanguy) or is that part of the clear out following their spending?

Llorente made 6 league starts last season - I wouldn’t worry about them feeling the need to replace him in isolation. He was always going to leave. But Madrid are clearly looking for a new midfielder, and could well target Ndombele if Pogba doesn’t work out.

Llorente is just on the list of players Madrid need/want to offload before they buy.
