Ain’t going to happen though, they’d need to spend £400-500m their squad is in such a poor state as I don’t see player sales doing much unless Pogba does make them £150m.
Agree - they have an issue with average players on massive wages that they will find hard to shift.

I thought OGS did ok, with someone else's team and suspect he has the backing of the board so may well find he has that kinda money to spend. He seems to be a big fan of promoting from their youth ranks, which the board undoubtedly love.

Yes, but equally, they're not what they were and a lot of players want to join teams who are the real deal when they're joining them, not a work in progress.

Ultimately though it's the wages United can still offer, but I think they'll be more careful with the handing out of massive contracts now.

If we were offering a similar financial package as United, for a certain player, and with similar game time aasuranses, performances withstanding, I think we look a more attractive Club at the moment.

The Pochettino factor, current CL finalists and recent progression - and above all the draw of the new stadium, could well appeal more than their history.

It's subjective of course, but United are no longer the dominant force they where and players think more about the here and now, and equate that to their futures over past glories. Again n IMHO.
I think the fact that we can offer CL football next season is also huge. If Utd had qualified over us, that would probably swing the balance, even if their club was a total shambles and we had our shiny new stadium.

Yeah I agree, worded that badly. The CL for next season is paramount, but the other factors really add up to make us more attractive than ever.

Also, United's football has been pretty much as dull as dishwater for so long now.

Utd have done the football equivalent of betting on heads 10 times in a row and then flipping non stop tails. I'm convinced that this remarkable run of bad signings, poor managerial choices, terrible contract dealings and just all round incompetence has already set them back about 5 years and things will get a lot worse before they get better.

I wouldn't be remotely surprised if they dropped below Everton and Wolves next season, if not further.

We’re led to believe that this chap is relatively sensible and ambitious. I just cannot, for the life of me, see why he would be interested in Man Utd.
Because Manchester United are a massive club?
The cheek of some our supporters really shameful .

If Man Utd are geniuinely interested in signing him and are going all out for it, do not underestimate the cultural/political significance of what a talented and well known young player choosing Tottenham Hotspur over Manchester United would represent, on many levels.

Regardless of which European competition either side has qualified for, this would be a major landmark for both clubs.

I just gasped and farted at the same time. The woman in the queue beside me looked at me like I’d just crawled out a mental asylum. Thanks, you bastard

Lyon have a rep for buying cheap and developing so I really wouldn't be surprised if they do sign him to replace N'Dombele.

Looks like it will be between PSG, Man United and Spurs for N'Dombele.

I know Le Pari told us during the season that PSG were heavily interested in him, but I feel like we have a better chance due to FFP than they do.

If they sign De Ligt they will be on their FFP limit already. Can't see them spending the amount Aulas wants in that case.

Let's hope for some developments in the next 2 weeks so we know where we stand with Tanguy and Lo Celso.

Do me a favour if we ever do sign him, what’s the chance you will ever spell his name correctly

It's nothing to do with bad luck, it's Ed Woodward.

Because Manchester United are a massive club?
The cheek of some our supporters really shameful .

AC Milan are a massive club but I think people would fancy our chances of beating them to a signing.

Utd are a huge club but right now aren't on a good way. Eriksen and Sancho reportedly turned them down this summer for example.

Sometimes we are guilty as a club of being too respectful. I bet when Poch came in if he said we'd compete for PL and CL titles and finish ahead of everyone in the league during his spell most would have said it's impossible.

Spurs are in a better place than Utd right now. Enjoy it while it lasts.

(The caveat of course is that Utd can offer twice the wages we can, but if the reported near £200k offer from us is true that's unlikely to be blown out of the water).

I can’t link it, and it’s probably onions, But Ally Gold is saying we’d be looking to offer him close to £200k per week.

I’d be surprised if the club have leaked that, so as I say, onions
