Timothy Castagne was out for 10 weeks, though his was almost really bad, so I guess it depends on the extent.
Osimhen hade multiple fractures and needed six plates and eighteen screws during to fix what was a really bad face injury, and he missed less than 2 months and now plays with a mask.

With this in mind, if he misses the World Cup he shouldn't really miss many Spurs games after the WC break you would think.

I’d honestly much rather he miss a few months for us than miss the World Cup. If any player has earned that it’s him.

This is basically season over for us, and screw the world cup. If this is anything like Nikos Zisis suffered for the Greek national basketball team, which sounds very similar, I don't think we'll see Son again this season. Hopefully he'll be fine for 2023-24 with no lingering effects. Nikos was never the same player ever again. Get well soon, Sonny.

I'm absolutely gutted for Sonny. It reminds me of the horrific 'assault' Justin Fashanu made on Gary Mabbutt which shattered his cheekbone and broke his eye socket. I'm sure I heard Gary say a while back, he's never recovered any feeling in his cheekbone to this very day.

Yeah, Osimhen was initially told he would be out 12 weeks, but was back training after 2 weeks and playing after 8 weeks.

With The WC starting in 3 weeks and ending in 6 1/2 weeks, I would say it is extremely doubtful he will make it unfortunately.

I mean it's impossible to say. If you look at recovery times it can be anywhere from 3 weeks to many months, we don't have the scans, we don't know how the operation will go so it's all speculation.

The main thing is his health. These kind of injuries can have long term effects so let's all hope the operation is a success and he recovered quickly, but most importantly, as well as possible.

Oh don't be so dramatic.
It could be a month, it could be three but it's far from "season over for us".
Thankfully we have a break soon, decent cover in Richarlison (even Bryan) and the January window should it be that bad.
It's not like Sonny has been pulling up trees this season.

I'm gutted for him that he may miss the stupid world cup but it's far from season over for us. He's scored 3 goals this season and yet we're in 3rd place
We can cope without him, if need be

I'm gutted for him! A realistic shot at the prem and his world cup dream either over or at best hanging on a thread.

The first header he’s gone for all season and he ends up with this. No wonder he doesn’t jump usually. Ironically it’s my only pet peeve with Son (up until this season) that he hardly ever attempts to jump for a 50/50 challenge - in fact this led to a goal against us last month (think it was against Utd).

Even though he’s been below par this season, it’s still a really big miss because we all know what he can do and the fear he puts into opponents with his pace. Let’s hope Richarlison is fit soon and he can play on the left which is his preferred position away. Kulu on the right and things don’t look too bad.

Hope Son is fit to play in the World Cup, i think it would massively affect him mentally if he didn’t. As others have said, on a selfish note, it wouldn’t be the worst for him to have a nice rest. But even then, he’d probably travel to the WC with the team just to be there with them, which is understandable but I’d much rather see him stay here and train with Conte.

Now we just have to hope Kane stays fit. How the fuck he’s played almost every minute so far is beyond me. He’s one quick burst of pace from doing his hammy (If that happens, what’s the betting he does it for England and is out for 3 months for us!). Sorry, negative side is coming out in me, with a bit of luck Son will be back playing in a mask against Leeds…

Get well soon Sonny and stay the fuck safe Harry!

Looks like he was pretty close with the initial claim of an orbital fracture...
yeah, fair do's. it was a bit suspicious that he put that out pretty soon after the injury and a quick check of his twitter didn't show him as getting a ton of scoops on anything regarding Son. maybe he did get info from Son's camp. maybe he guessed right. ?‍♂️

If anything is positive here, maybe it gives him some much needed rest and allows him to get back to where we're used to him being?

So sad, Son is pretty much at the prime of his career and has established himself as one of football's super stars. Really hope he can play his part in the world cup and take Korea into the knock out stages.

Gutted for him, especially being a poster boy for country, Asia and us. But I'm quite confident he will make the WC. South Korea is one of the world best in constructive/facial/cosmetic surgery. He will be in perfect hands.
