Son is just not the right player in his position when we play a back four, Saturday was evidence that the left fullback is left too exposed when he plays.

Yet some were suggesting he play as a wing back

He's great going forward but defensively leaves a lot to be desired. Not his fault and not knocking him. His role is predominantly to go forward and he does that pretty well a lot of the time. He's contributed a lot this season and it's unfair to say anything otherwise. He's not world class but he's a very good player to have around the squad. In my preferred formation he wouldn't start but it's players like him we should be having on the bench, not Onomah et al.

I'd hope so, but I have my doubts. His career here seems to be following the same path as it did at Leverkusen. First season there he had his moments but frustrated them a lot and they couldn't figure out whether he should be playing up front, LWF, RWF or AM. The second season he started brilliantly and the common consensus was that he'd become a huge upgrade on Schurrle who he'd been brought in to replace. But by the end of the year, the consistency issues came up and his decision making didn't seem to be getting any better. I remember reading the views of their fans the day we signed him and whilst they all seemed appreciative of his time there and wished him good luck with the move, they all seemd relatively happy to cash in.

This. I love Son on his good days. Even last week against Boro he was the best player on the pitch. But when he's bad, my god he's REALLY bad, and we quite simply have no idea which one is going to turn up.

We spent £30m on Moussa Sissoko. I refuse to believe there aren't options out there within our budget.

Yeah I don't think we can take what happened 2 seasons ago and apply that to his time here, he's older and he has more experience now and he's getting better. We have other players who we should be looking to replace other than Son.

The amount of points he helped us this season, and in fact some of last season which was his first in the most competitive and physical league in the world.. Not forgetting the effort in everything, including the language he tries so hard to get a good grip on.. 'nuff said..

I honestly believe with Son that he does better if he dosnt have time to think about what hes doing.

He's one of my favourite players in our team but also the one that makes me shout at the tv the most. I think the frustration is because he clearly has the ability to be an amazing player but then he will mess up simple passes or lose control of an easy ball. I'd like to see us sign an upgrade who can play accross the front positions but I hope we keep Son for many years to come.

Our bench is obviously missing a few players who can make an impact so with a bit of luck we'll bring someone in over the summer with the funds we get from selling Sissoko (if we can find a buyer).

He is frustrating at times but I'm nowhere near the place where I think we should sell.

If he is happy here and determined to succeed then we should keep him. There are a few others I'd sell ahead of Son.

He reminds me of Chadli.
Some good goals but unless he scores he's a nuisance.
Smilier than Chadders though even when he makes a bad mistake.

I saw something at the end of the boro game which made me decide I'm firmly in the sell camp.

Not going to expand, but I think he'll ask to go back to Germany again and I'd accept.

Did you spot signs that this quasi-curionic acids were unbalanced?

It was an off field thing. Sadly, as I like his enthusiastic demeanour.

Personally I put Alli, Eriksen and Lamela above him, so think his place is lost to a similar (albeit more consistent) replacement, though I'm fickle as if he helps us win a cup (and gets exemption from national service) then he's my man!
