He's just 23. He still has time for the LB spot.
I don't blame him for looking timid. I would too given that sort of injury record.
He needs to stay fit and the rest could follow. He might never become a regular FB for a top-8 side but at the moment i doubt even a relegation-bound side would touch him.

The one thing I'd say about sess is he always looked scared of making a mistake which hampered his play massively. With a manager that will give him freedom to play and won't coach him from the touchline as Jose and Conte did i think he could do a shift. He's a talented footballer who's comfortable with the ball at his feet. Rather his recovery pace than say Davies
Having seen him a few times now first hand - and been rooting for him to succeed, I’m with those who think that maybe he just isn’t at the right level . The line above about him being scared to make a mistake is so true but also he seems to make wrong decisions at crucial times -whether through fear, lack of focus confidence or just that missing X factor that a player at the very top level needs. I genuinely wish him well but he needs a fresh start somewhere else.

We shouldn't have any average players (players top six sides wouldn't want) or deadwood as back up in my opinion. There should be genuine competition.

Sessegnon was one of the most sought after young talents in world football when we signed him. It hasn't worked out for him so far - mainly due to playing under defensive managers and being hampered by a succession of injuries - but I wouldn't put a 23 year old HG player in the 'deadwood' category yet.

Does anyone know when he may be back in training again?

I do feel for the kid. It can't be easy.

But he has three massive obstacles to overcome:
1. Getting fit. Staying fit.
2. Overcoming the psychological restrictions that bleed into his approach on the field. He plays scared. And I don't think that has anything to do with managers. He fears getting hurt - which is understandable.
3. This one is the hardest... He can't improve unless he is playing. He won't play unless he is committed and will give 100%, regardless of whether or not he makes mistakes. As that's his biggest detriment - is playing at 75%. He's petrified of going up through the gears, as it can lead to injury. So, he's overly cautious. Which in turn will NOT endear him to Ange.

It's gonna be ice skating uphill for Sess, I'm afraid.

Two years left on his contract. Personally I can't see us renewing with his injury record. If he was a world beater, then maybe, but he isn't so we would better off cutting our losses so to speak.

I have my doubts, but I would like to see what he can do under Ange. Whatever ends up happening, he seems a nice lad, so I hope he finds his best form and can enjoy his prime years as a footballer.

Yep.

And to be fair, he's played under some really ill fitting managers at our club.

Just don’t see it. Don’t see where his minutes will come from for him to even get a decent shot at it. He’ll be 3rd choice left back and also firmly down the pecking order for a spot on the wing. Confidence and self belief has been his most major issue and I don’t see a run of games for him where he can build that. Think a move abroad to rebuild would be the best move for his career.

He can play in any left-sided position, so he has that going for him. And I'd say he is the #2 left back at the club behind Udogie. I think he's just going to have to really take his chance when it arrives whether that is at left back or further up field. He definitely has talent, but we've not seen it anywhere near enough in a Spurs shirt. But he's also only been at Spurs since the big downturn. It'll be interesting to see if he plays a decent role in the upturn.

We can see the difference in Bissouma compared to how he was with past managers. I say give him a chance with Ange (won't be first choice but ok back up) he has the attacking ability needed IMO
Crazy Sess has survived poch, mason, mourinho, conte, nuno and people still hold hope for him, even if he does even get fit again to play

Unfortunately for Sess, he is continuously injured and if we can recover some money for him then we should sell.

Ange has talked up Davies as a left back whereas Sess has been involved in what, 2 or 3 sessions with him before he got hurt again. Don’t see what evidence there’d be for him bumping Davies down the list. Or even any reason for it.

To this day I cant understand why he was converted from a free scoring winger into a defender. It really has ruined him.

I'd like to see if he's still got it.

There's a player there. Would like to see if Ange can coax that timid nature out of him and give him freedom to just play without the concern of making a mistake.

Remember the goal v Bayern?

Let’s give him a chance.

We need to remember that these players played under two dinosaurs in Jose and Conte, nobody apart from HK thrived consistently in the last 4 years.

Look at the Bissouma turnaround.

He's home grown, we can't afford to dispose of him at this stage.

Hopefully its a case of him just needing to outgrow his injury troubles.

Teason is playing a high line. Davies can get upfield and inside like Udogie, but he can't recover position like Udogie can. Sess hasn't shown much in a Spurs shirt, but he can cover ground better than Favies. If Sees can get some confidence within Ange's framework, then we know from his Fulham days and snippets with us that he's got goals and assists in him.
