“Who shall we put in the kit photos?”

It’s reported in the papers that the Sessegnon brothers want away...”

“Ryan’s at the U21 tournament, but Ok”

For any conspiracy theorists, Fulham have announced their new kits today, and Ryan Sessegnon is nowhere to be seen in press shots. Steven is pictured in the away kit, though.

Gareth Bale was FIFA cover star in our kit. Means nothing. They can simply cut him out when he goes.

Are we sure it is actually Steven and not some kind of clever twins prank?

Tottenham are also hopeful of finalising a deal for Fulham teenager Ryan Sessegnon, who is also keen to work under Pochettino.

Sessegnon suffered a hamstring injury playing for the England Under-21s this summer and is yet to know the full extent of the damage, but it is not believed to have caused any concerns that his move away from Craven Cottage will be disrupted.

I think RS will be brilliant in a more fluid team with structure and clear consistent management . If we get him for anywhere near £25m then that's still a steal.

I really want us to sign Sessegnon. There is serious talent there but the thing that impresses me most is his intelligence.

I don’t just mean the tactical/on-field stuff like the runs he makes, positional play etc (which is very impressive). It’s more how switched on and smart he seems for a kid his age. He comes across so well in interviews, speaks well and has none of the baggage or attitude that kids can easily develop when cash is thrown at them from such a young age. There’s this steely determination that comes across every time he talks.

It’s actually this aspect of him which reminds me most of Bale.

Damien Comolli told a story about Bale in the Spurs Show’s pre-UCL Final podcast which really highlighted how he was different to others of his age group when we signed him. He was selling the club to Bale and told him we wanted to challenge for Top 4 and he’d play left back. Bale replied by asking how many of the Top 4 challengers had an 18 year old playing full back, which totally stumped Comolli but made him want him more! This was a guy who was switched on, determined and wanted the move best for his career.

As I said, I see so much of this intelligence in Sessegnon. He wanted that extra season with Fulham to test himself and show loyalty, but he clearly sees Poch as the manager best suited to make him a star. Would be a really great signing.

The switched on bit... Is the bit that defines a great player (my opinion) Something that gives the split second jump on an opponent. Hard to teach to someone more like it is a gift/special talent.

Tottenham confident of sealing £25m Ryan Sessegnon deal this summer despite Fulham holding out for huge £45m fee
  • Tottenham have been chasing Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham for last few years
  • They have struggled to match the Championship side's valuation of Sessegnon
  • But they are confident they will be able to agree a deal with him this window
Tottenham are confident they can seal a deal for Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon.

Spurs have been keen on snapping up the 19-year-old for the last few transfer windows, although they have struggled to match Fulham's valuation of their academy product.

Mauricio Pochettino's side feel he is worth around £25million, while Fulham wanted £45m for the left-sided player.

Fulham have offered Sessegnon a contract extension to stay at Craven Cottage, but he is not planning to sign it given the interest from Spurs and German giants Borussia Dortmund.

He decided to stay last summer after they were promoted to the Premier League, yet failed to help them stay in the top flight.

Totally agree, coupled with sacrifice and a determination to be the best.

In that regard, Kane is so important to have at the club to set the example and provide hope to any young player who genuinely wants to make it.

Sessegnon, Clarke & Aarons (hopefully) would be some exceptional business on our part.

Three extremely young players who under Poch's coaching could become huge and integral players down the line.

I can see Fulham playing hardball for as long as they dare but eventually our dear leader will prevail.

Reports that Ryan will not sign an extension and his contract expires in June 2020 should really force Fulham to work with us on this deal. At worst, we can get him for significantly less in January or he can see his contract out and have a tribunal set a fee way less than £25m we're offering.
