This is what De Ligt said when asked about which players had suprised him after his first year with Juve

“So I’ll say there are two other players who struck me: one is [Paulo] Dybala, who has truly stunning technique. The other, and it might sound strange to some, is Rodrigo Bentancur, a player with truly amazing technical ability. He’s quite underrated. He’s a great player with a great future ahead of him.”

Can you give a breakdown for those of us that can't bring themselves to enter the spiteful, angry world of twitter?
Was expecting some glowing reviews of him different from the common points most knew but gets more slightly underwhelming as one read down the thread. ?

You are just so wrong!
Probably far fetched, but maybe Paratici is very good at chess, pushed Juve to spend on DV now so that a numbers of their players became available due to the need to raise funds.

It will be interesting to see who Porto purchase with the Diaz money if anyone, maybe Lo Celso

and if we did sign dembele is that linked to traore going there…

Game theory or just me being too awake at stupid o’ clock

So much obsession over the term 'creative'. The front 3 and wing backs will provide a majority of our attacking threat. Another Skipp/Hojbjerg is no bad thing. Only Winks has proven to be good enough competition in there.

I’ve been calling out for central midfield quality for years. If this guy is any good we need to go for it. It’s such an easy area of the team to upgrade. When Skipp is out the team struggles so badly and him having to play every game at his age is a big ask. This guy and bissouma in would be absolutely huge for us.

You know I read this earlier thinking it would be insightful and it didn’t sound great and then I watched the video @fishhhandaricecake put up vs Torino and realised this person doesn’t have a clue

The thread is a rambling mess of him unable to decide what he thinks of the player. It quite a funny read

A taller south american version of Winks from the italian league that needs to adapt to both culture and Contes style since he isn’t one of the typical player-types in his system.

What can go wrong here?

Their down ward spiral started earlier. They won Serie A under Sarri in 19/20 with one point but didnt play well and Inter should've beaten them that year. Juve won 2 out of the last 8 games.

I know Juventus and Serie A have a reputation for match fixing, but that's so blatant its ridiculous!

Sorry mate but I don’t agree. He’s a defensive midfielder.

He’s scored 1 goal in 181 appearances for Juve…

He’s a good player and I rate him and he’ll improve us but he’s certainly not ‘very offensive naturally’
I read a report that he's better further up the pitch. That he plays where he plays due to necessity, not lack of talent from a creative perspective.
