Nope lawyers have been overseeing the paperwork which is normal practice and nothing has been signed yet as far as I’m aware which keeps the invitation open . This is agents play at work here is trying to milk as much possible from this deal by presenting his client with the lottery of choices which is his job. Personal terms have been agreed but Bayern have matched the deal you have to applaud them if they’re serious as I said yesterday as there’s a lot that goes into it. Spurs believe they can over see this wave and get this done time will now tell . I’ll post as and when I can let’s just chill peeps x

Thanks for the clarification. We can only hope that Dragusin feels we have conducted ourselves well and feels comfortable with us as a club. Does'nt sound like money is the deciding factor here but career opportunity and progression.

Only one thing to say....... why is it taking so long and is anyone suprised if it falls through?...... DEJAVU INCOMING.
Transfers take so long because we are talking about 30 million dollar deals that have a million different moving parts to them. For all we know the timo Werner deal has been worked on for weeks but only hit the media at the tail end of it.

Deals in Italy get magnified to the umpteenth degree because everything is always out in the open and being written about non freaking stop for the tabloids. it is what it is. At the end of the day, there are two outcomes, he either joins or he doesn't join, if he does great if not we move on to the next target. Im just as upset as the rest of you but we just have to remember we literally have zero control over the outcome... unless one of you in Daniel Levy...

Agree to an extent but i'm sure we could of closed it a bit quicker if we knew Bayern were trying to hijack the deal
Always seems to happen more to Spurs than other vlubs.

Well, well. That would be a bit of a blow wouldn't it? Shame, but I also don't feel that "if we'd moved quicker" it would have really made much of a difference.

If Bayern were going to move, they would have come what may.

If we get him, great. If we don't, can we refrain from the unhinged Levy hate please?

But moving quicker would have given us more time to move on to another option and bring them in for the Utd game, City game etc.

Looking at this deal, it wouldn’t surprise me if it takes us until the end of the window to try and bring someone else in.

We have to hope and pray Ange isn’t hugely annoyed by this and that we have got another good option lined up.

Doesn't matter how quick we are trying to close the deal if their agent is going to just call Bayern and say "here's the terms we are open to you if you are interested".

Sorry to quote you again but, well, you know.......... :D

Communicated clearly is usually something said in the OP of the Daily ITK Discussion Thread. And that gets routinely ignored. We even tried a pop up that you had to dismiss to signify that you'd read and understood, that did no good either. So we do try but, well, it don't do much good.

So I wouldn't worry too much about clearly communicated. Of course we'll be fair and try but i'm not going to nanny people. People either take notice or they don't. All of us have other things to do with our time.
like you say we are all adults, we shouldnt need policing. We all have an emotional attachment to the club, but we should all know where to draw the line as well.

Seriously haven't we got someone at the club who can close deals?

Well yes, that’s why we have a whole squad of players that we signed.

The issue is it’s not only on us to ‘close’ the deal. The player, agent, and selling club all have to want that to happen as well. And in most cases it’s not in their best interest to do that quickly just in case a bigger club enters the party with more money.

True playing us like a flute.
The more worrying thing is who's next on the list and knowing the speed we complete transfers(bar free or loans] will it be too lare soon....

Nothing we can do if the player chooses Bayern and plenty of reasons why he would. And I don't believe that there was ever going to be any other outcome than the player choosing between the two clubs. If Bayern Munich are so desperate for a CB this window that they have already agreed terms with Eric Dier, then there was no way we were going to swoop in and sign one of the most promising available talents without them getting involved.

If his agent had allowed him to sign for Spurs on Jan 1st without sounding out his options that would be negligent. It was never going to happen.

But I'm not giving up hope yet. Because at the end of the day, Dragusin would have spoken to both managers. One of those managers is a complete ***** and the other one is Ange Postecoglou. I know who I'd choose

Can’t blame the club if this falls through. They reached an agreement with Genoa. If the player chooses another club - shit happens.

We're the 10th biggest club on the planet.

We have TWO fit Centre Back on our books.

One has just returned from a two month lay off.

The other is Eric Dier who the manager has openly stated he doesn't want.

We've sold and loaned all the others.

Yes. We can blame the club.

Really frustrating if this falls through, have to admit I'd never heard of the guy a few weeks ago, but was still excited on the basis that we were filling the main gaps in the squad. Have to believe that we have other options lined up, but just hope we're not starting from scratch if this one doesn't work out.
