Vicario
Porro
Romero/ Dragusin/ Van De Ven
Udogie
Bentancur/ Bissouma/ Sarr/ Maddison/ Lo Celso
Kulusevski/ Johnson/ Solomon/ Richarlison/ Son/ Werner/ Veliz

That looks better as an 18 that I've seen in recent times. Let's hope the club get both deals done

I am curious, you include Soloman and Veliz, but not Emerson or Davies?

I would hope that Spurs are well aware of that as an issue and haven't made the Dragusin move conditional on the Spence loan.

I can't see them being mutually exclusive. It's more likely doing us a favour than the deal hinging on spence

Yeah. Hopefully two separate transfers being discussed in parallel. I doubt either club would want the deal to fall through now over a player not moving on loan. Especially since there’s time in the window for Genoa to move for alternatives.

The bastard aggregator Bayern 'news' followed by the ITK backing it up straight afterwards as well as our mental scars with Mr Levy's dragging out of and then losing deals = fair enough that some lost their shit yesterday but it does also just show lets wait and see can be a good approach.

Either way the ups and downs are all part of the fun and as long as we get it done then happy days.

Yeah I agree. I personally dont have an issue with people "losing their shit" or "bedwetting"...its a forum full of diverse views, after all. I do draw the line at overly personal, anti-semitic tropes etc though.

I'm not in any way suggesting that all people wait 12 hours to comment on any rumour. I'm not even complaining about it. I was responding to somebody who said it's "very easy to be smart now" and making the point that it's pretty easy to be smart at the time as well. And that is in relation to the toxic posts that came out last night - not any reasonable ones. Maybe I should have been clearer about that.

People are going to have reactions to stuff, but I don't think that using "human nature" or "we've been here before" should be any excuse for somebody labeling Levy (or anybody) as a "cancer" in the club. We talk about episodes like that as meltdowns or people wetting the bed, which definitely aren't good things! Why not suggest that there is a more reasonable way to be a football fan once in a while?

Anyway, it's a storm in a tea cup. One person was talking in a pretty horrible way, a bunch of others were on the anti-Levy bandwagon, and the usual suspects were giving out the winner ratings. It's the standard toxic echo chamber that comes with a transfer window. I'm not losing any sleep over it and I doubt you are either. (y)
I don't think anyone's ever being smart Veg. They're merely passing on info they've presumably heard from what they believe is a reliable source. Just like others (including me) have done in the past. The thing is not to make stuff up based purely on conjecture already posted elsewhere, just to water your own legend or because you feel pressure to deliver new info every time a window draws near. I fear some may be guilty of that on here, maybe?

I mean, surely these things bring traffic, interest, discussion topics, emotional engagement to the forum?

People shouldn't need to be told "these are not reliable sources", should be able to have fun with unreliable speculation, and plenty of forummers here are very good at supplying context about which people are and are not actually informed?
Yeah because what you lot really need more emotional engagement.

It’s not rocket science, quote the original source or take you emotional engagement to X.

I don't think many are complaining about negative reactions to news or developments in general. It's the using what barely even qualifies as news to advocate setting on fire the chairman, and other such less dopey but actually more poisonous stuff. Mountain out of a molehill doesn't come close to doing some of the reactions justice.
I completely disagree.

I was one of the people going mental last night. I'm still quite frustrated today. The deal is not a particularly expensive one. You have a group of players who are currently giving their all for the Club. A manager who, by chance (he wasn't Levy's first choice by all accounts), is one of the best things to happen to us in years and at the same time you have a crisis which arguably began during the last window when we fucked up by not signing CB cover.

That Davies and Emerson have given their all and performed admirably and that our results haven't spiralled as they probably should have given our absentees, means that Levy is allowed to get away with yet another fuck up this window. That being, not having a CB signed early. We are now racing to get this done in time for the weekend, which will be mid-January and that is what is unacceptable.

And all that, for what? To save 3-5m euro? What if this guy isn't signed before United and we lose to a mistake from Emerson at the weekend? What if, at the end of the season, we miss out on CL football by 1 point? Will we look to blame a player or the manager for any single mistake? Or will we actually look back at this monumental, in my opinion, fuck up in not signing a CB early enough.

As I pointed out last night, it's also a matter of showing appreciation to your coaching staff who are working wonders. They are in desperate need of help from the recruitment team and I can just imagine Ange chomping at the bits to know if he'll have a fit, recognised CB for the weekend, only to keep hearing "we're negotiating how to pay that final 5m". That's been the case for a good few weeks now, I should add.

So that's where my personal fury at Levy emanates from. Especially as this is not the first time this has happened and especially when one considers that we have/had left ourselves open to a Bayern coming in at the last. As Liverpool did in the recent past, I might add.

Spence probably doesnt wanna go cause hes worried Conte will rock up there.

In all seroiusness, he is right to be a little hesitant. This is obviously a loan that has only come about due to this deal so probably not much thought gone into it in terms of the player's development.

Spence should have thought about his development when he was at Leeds...

I thought his choice of loans last season was suspect. He had a chance to make that right at Leeds this year, but obviously did not. He is running out of options if he wants to kickstart his career.
